I wonder if Caron will get the start today. He did manage to get his first win last night, so I am going to assume he will get the nod again. I have a feeling one of the newly called up players will get a goal this game - be it Surovy, TK or (perhaps hopefully Lupaschuk).

Here's hoping we can limit the Panthers to as many shots as we did Buffalo. We might stand a chance if we can match their shot output, though the Panthers are another team that seem to have our number. I am not going to predict a score as we dont seem to do well when I do. I'll just say "Lets Go Pens" and pray for a win and no injuries to key players.

Oh, and Edzo, please stop playing Holzinger for 15-20 mins a game!

I'm hoping that we see Shields in net tonight, as opposed to Luongo.

Nedorost also got the callup and should play tonight. Looking forward to seeing him.

You mean... uh .... Panthers PP?:p

3-2 Final, Panthers win. The Pens played very well, and were it not for a huge breakdown on the Bure goal as well as missed opportunites earlier in the game, I think they would have won this one.

Oh well.

GAME THOUGHTS

Kraft/Kostopolous belong on this team. Kraft has been winning faceoffs like a madman. Did he do that here before or (GASP) actually work on it in practice? Kraft also has been involved in four of this teams past nine goals. Not earth shattering but consistent. Who has more ice time and hasn't been involved in any of this teams past however many goals (goals FOR I meant ....

Holzinger actually had a few chances tonight. OF COURSE he didnt convert them. And that third goal was brutal (ya know the game winner?) Bure was his man. Poor positioning by him and I believe Tarnstrom.

Kosto scored a win in his fight with Rossiter.

Refs were awful. Inconsistent and let the Pens get away with ALOT of stickwork. Also let the Panthers get away with some rough stuff.

Speaking of which did anyone notice the facewash Kraft gave a Panther towards the end of the game. Made me proud....tear

Second goal was a combo of Caron/Bergie's fault. There is no way that puck should have been frozen. Caron should have played it into the boards yet Bergie shouldnt have a guy catch him from ten feet away.

Speaking of which who would win in a race between McKenna and Bergevin. And would the victor actually consider it a victory??? Hmmm

Serious question. Does it seem like the rest of you that our team gives up the blueline wayyyy to easily? We dont stand up to an opposing rush and it gives the other team so much time and space, it's no wonder we give up alot of shots (which I know we didnt tonight but...). Is it cuz our defense has the speed of my grandma on her rascal scooter???

WHY DOES HOLZINGER GET SO MUCH ICE????

The Drake has strung together two decent performances. I didnt know he had it in him, yet from what I saw before he played for us, this is the Drake I somewhat expected.

Surovy had roughly 800 shots on goal tonight I believe. He must have heard everyone complaining how he missed the net last night. I think he belongs on this team also....hmmmm who's spot should he take???

Steady not spectacular games from Orpik,Alexsei, Koltsov, Buchy,Eastwood,Abid and Straka who was using his speed well tonight.

Subpar for Melichar (is he hurt again....hasn't been himself lately) Malone (not a bad game at all but not what he has been doing lately) and we all know the rest...

REAL bad game from the refs and the Florida announcers....funny thing about them. They totally trashed the Penguins by saying that this wasnt a REAL game, playing the Pens is "more like a scrimmage...it IS a scrimmage actually"....ohhh about a minute and a half later we scored. Then we scored again. Then they said "this is no longer like a scrimmage". The worst part about it is the guy who SAID it also said in the second period that the Pens were outplaying the Panthers....geez!

Who's uglier...Jokinen or Cornelius or Jason Blake?

Kraft had desire to win tonight. I've never seen that desire from him before. And TK's fight was a turnaround in the game. Congrats to both of those players. Good effort in the third, even though they didn't get any real good chances towards the end. Even though we lost, this was one of the better games we've played in a while.

35-20 in favor of shots? Hopefully the Pens can build on these two games. By the way, I expected Kraft to have a breakthrough season, he just needed playing time (mostly because of 7 game point streak last year).

Didn't get to see the game (don't get to many since starting college this year with the exception of ESPN/Islanders/Rangers games) but looking over the stats... Malone was lost 9 of 10 face off attempts, why was he taking them?

Holzinger, -2, 18+ minutes, he shouldn't be out there that much...

Oh well, someday maybe we'll realize why he's been playing so much...

What??? Now everyone is praising Milan Kraft (while he hasn't shown yet to be something) though I read post after post claiming he was worthless?
I was the only one saying we needed to give the guy a chance!

Some of you guys are soooooo bandwagon fans!

I'll admit that I was originally upset with Malone being here, and I'm happy with the decision now.

I will admit I am not a Kraft fan, and he still hasnt won me over yet. So no bandwagon jumping from me yet. However, I am pleased he has been given a chance to get some decent minutes, be it auditioning him for a trade, or a final chance to see if he can stick with the Pens.

I am much happier to see players like Malone, Kraft, Surovy and Kostopoulos trying their best for the team than someone like Holzinger, who has done nothing to deserve the minutes he is getting. He also seems to have a habit ot taking stupid penalties. I still am hoping Edzo will revert to his decision making crtieria that he used at training camp and bench or demote players who are not trying 100% or playing 100%.

I don't think I have said negative things about Kraft, I could be wrong, though. But all he needs is CONSITENT ice time. I'd also like to see Abid taking about 10 minutes a game away from Holzinger. He hasn't been given much of a chance, either IMHO.

Same here, his work on the penalty kill with fata has really made me a fan. Especially after having to put up with Manderville last year.

Maybe you should specify next time instead of a blanket statement. As you know Ive been agreeing with that(Krafts icetime/upside) since our old days on the Mill.
