Mark Eaton

Man has he come a long way. He looked great last night, he moves the puck so quick and precise and he's solid on his defensive positioning. The added weight has kept him from being manhandled too. All-in-all one of our most complete defensemen.

I agree. Matter of fact, after a shaky first period all the Dmen looked solid last night. Hammer had a turnover the led to the first goal, but then he got more physical and played great. Kloucek makes me nervous going back on the puck with someone on his hip, but put on a couple of nice hits and does a decent job clearing the crease.
Zids and Kimmo where great on the PP. York even looked real solid.

I have to admit that last year I wasnt the biggest fan of York or Eaton, ...or any Dman other than KImmo.

Im still deciding on York with his surgery and all.,but man it is great to see Eaton bloom into a solid NHL Dman. Im glad that he is out there.

After watching him in the first meeting with Dallas (2nd game of the season), I was extremely depressed with his play. Frankly, he sucked. I thought for sure we would be sending him down again. Fortunately, the game was a fluke. He has been playing some solid hockey, and I am quite pleased with his play this year. He has been good at both ends of the ice, which is something I really did not expect.

Can't argue here. I think once his D-partner(s) is/are experienced and defensively solid enough to cover for him, his offensive side might be able to show up. Right now, he doesn't need to worry about it, as his D is all we need, but in the future, with the right partner, I bet he could chip in 10 or so goals a year.

i agree with all of this...is BluesConvert still around on these boards, because he said over on the other boards that he thought Eaton played terribly last night..and has BEEN playing terribly...and I'm curious as to why he thinks so. I definitely thought that Eaton and Hamhuis were great defensively last night

nomo, he says that when he dogs Eaton, Eaton shows up with a great game, so he's going to continue to dog him. I think it's more of bc, is saving face, he called him "question mark" for the longest, thought he was nothing more than an AHL player.

well, to be fair...so did i. and for the longest time, HE was an AHL calibre defenseman. he did something i didn't think possible in getting bigger\upping his game.
