Pens - Caps Trade Proposal

The recent Evgeni Malkin quandry overseas in Scandinavia has got me thinking. It is quite obvious that Malkin has no intention of playing ice hockey for the Mettalsburg Ironsmiths of the RSL, or for the Pittsburgh Penguins for that matter. Therefore, I lightbulb popped up in the old cranium. Why not re-unite Malkin with his lifelong childhood friend and best friend, Alexander Ovechkin? I am currently on the record stating that these two playing together would be the best combination since Kerry Collins and Randle Moss.

So I will throw this out there, you can take it or throw it away. But I think it is an exchange that would certainly be profitable for both squads.

To Pittsburgh:
Shaone Morrissonn
Kris Beech
Donald Brashear
3rd round draft pick

To Washington:
Evgeni Malkin

I was afraid I would receive that response. But Pittsburgh has an obvious need at second line center and I feel that Kris Beech is a player that they have long been searching for. Also, Brashear fills the obvious need of enforcer.

Washington gives up too much. Take out Brashear and the trade is less gay.

Beech could be a minor leaguer, Brashear is worth nothing to Pit. The only player of value is Morrisonn. For Malkin the Caps would have to build a trade around Morrisonn AND Fehr, with maybe Bourque as well.

If Pittsburgh has an obvious need for a second line centre, why trade Malkin?

It doesn't matter how many bad players you offer, yuo can't just trade for whoever you want.

I would normally turn around and make a similar trade in our favor, but Toronto has no good players, and Ottawa has no bad players.

Why would the Pens be interested if Brian "Norris Trophy" Pothier wasn't involved?

I like it! It will get something for everybody to talk about. How Washington compeletly hosed Pittsburg. I've never seen a proposal so bad... its insane, I also love the part where you say that Malkin has no intention of ever playing in Pittsburg... since when? HAHAHAHA Get it done GMS!

I also have never heard that Malkin does not want to play with the Pens. Everything to contrary actually, and a young team is where he can really fit in and get comfortable with.

Does this guy know anything about NHL hockey let alone those he included on the Caps side of this proposal?

Beech and Brashear would not even make the team. Morrison is a good looking young dman but not what they would be looking for either to solidify their D. And to add even more insult....only a 3rd round pick???

Unreal.

Oh yeah and btw, it is Mettalurg Magnitogorsk, whereas Magnitogorsk is the town name and Mettalurg the team name. So to translate you could say Magnitogorsk Metallurgists or Metal/IronSmiths or even Steelers, although that is an americanized term.

The team name comes 1st before the city name as if to say the "The Metallurg of Magnitogorsk".

Mettalsburg Ironsmiths...c'mon, so so soooooooooooo sad.

The Pens only do this if you throw in Bradley and Fata, having these fantastic players once simply wasn't enough!
