*** is this?! Columbus trades Zherdev to a divison rival for scraps they can't even use? Horrible.

A. You need to take the cap into account.
B. Trading Datsyuk: Have you lost your ****ing mind? A team with cap space doesn't trade their number one center.

I shouldn't expect anything less than absurd from you...

Liv is hardly a "scrap."

ya but his trade value isn't too good at the same time...he would be 3rd on their depth chart and would not help them now, maybe ever....

This is terrible for LA,and I hate the Kings. There is no chance that LA trades an up and coming star in cammalleri a very solid young player in Gleason and there top prospect for a 37year-old and a 28year-old great center in Datsyuk, especially when they have thornton, mccauley, conroy, belanger, armstrong, and avery at centre to go along with cammaleri.
But at the same time i am a ducks fan so

He is total scrap to the Jackets. He would be competing for 4th on the depth chart with Popperle. LeClaire, Norrena, and Conklin would all be ahead of him.

The Blue Jackets traded their #1 goalie for scoring and now they are supposed to trade their #2 scorer for Hudler and a backup?

Just off the top of my head, I don't think this one works capwise for Atlanta. Kozlov is making a hair over 2 mil, while Lang is at 3.8. They just drafted Pavelec in 2005 and seem pretty high on him, so I'd be surprised to see him dealt. Exelby makes peanuts and is exactly the type of guy Atlanta needs to keep.

While the Thrashers could use a "#1" center to replace Savard, I don't think they the can afford Lang or would be willing to give up the aforementioned package.

The value is arguably right, but again I think the motivation is misplaced. I don't think Chicago right now would give up a potential stud D (who again isn't making a ton) for a hyper talented, but potential UFA player who they would have to give big bucks to retain.

All depends on what you think about Hudler. Right now hard to gauge Hudler's value since he couldn't crack a deep Wings squad. We'll probably have a better grasp on him after this year.

Kings are definitely going with the youth movement, so I don't think they'd trade three cheap 20 something players for two potential UFAs. Especially considering O'Sullivan hasn't even skated a preseason shift for the organization.

Isn't Datsyuk an unrestricted free agent next season? If so, his value doesn't come close to approaching what is presented in some of those proposals.
