I just noticed that Niinimaki has started off the season in the Swedish Elite League with 3 points in 2 games. He finished off last season pretty hot (at least by his standards) with 14 points in 19 games in the Finnish league.

A better attitude and no shoulder injury and this kid definitely could have developed into something. I'll always remember hearing his name at the draft and going "saaaaaaaaay what?" He just turned 23, I wonder if he still has any hope (or interest) in the world at making a career for himself in the NHL.

Maybe on another team, our team is too deep down the middle on the big club and in prospect depth.

Great to see Trogdor start off hot. He's definitely a guy the Oilers will target if they manage to snag an AHL team for next season so hopefully he keeps it up. We could have a real European feel in the AHL next season with guys like Almtorp, Hrabal, Johansson and Umicevic potentially there. Now we just need a team...

Wow, Trogdor with 4gp 2g +4a for 6p

Those are some pretty crazy numbers. I guess losing that weight helped his game a bit.

Way to go Dragan!! Hope to see you next summer.

Theo Peckham scores on a 5 on 3 in the first period to give Owen Sound a 1-0 lead over Sarnia.

Good low point shot between the legs of Trevlor Lewis and the goaltender.

Good to hear, it will be interesting to see if Peckham can add a little offence to his game. He only put up 15 points in 67 games in the regular season but he turned it on with 7 points in 11 games in the post-season.

The kid doesn't have much of a slapper, but he gets it low and on net. That's more than some of these OHL guys can say for themselves

Meh, that's all that matters with a bruiser like Peckham. Hopefully his shot is better than Greene's though, it would be tough to have two guys in our top 6 with really weak shots.

Another good hard low shot on a 5 on 3 in the second period.... Peckham scores AGAIN.

Mikhnov turned his status from "bust" to "hot prospect" pretty much over one and a half seasons (so from around a similar age as Niinimaki is now). Anything is possible, although like Mikhnov at the time, I'm not holding my breath on this one.

Yep, I remember a post from a Finnish member on this board a few years back that really brought to light Niinimaki's attitude problems. It's too bad, he seems to have a decent amount of skill and he had a very projectable frame for the NHL game.

I'll say this: if both Umicevic and Bustamaki turn around and jump back onto the 'A' prospect list for the Oilers, I'll officially say our luck has turned since drafting Steve Kelly and Jason Bonsignore.

All we would be missing is Misha Joukov.

I'm not sure if he's ever had a game like this in his life.

How much do you guys want to bet this ends up being Peckham's career high in points?
