Help! Flex too light? Which lie? Blade??

I need to buy a new stick. I'm 5'9 and 160lbs. Is the 77 flex too light for me?
Also, is there a big difference between a 5 and 6 lie? Really?
Lastly, does anyone have any comments of a Lindros blade vs at Jokinen blade??

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'd say a 77 flex is a bit too soft. I'm 130 lbs. and the 77 can be to whippy for me. For your size, I'd suggest up to like an 85 flex. The Lindros is similar to the Jokienen in curve depth, but the Jokinen curves more to the heel while the Lindros is a mid-curve. The Jokinen is also a slightly open blade face. The curve is more of preference, but the biggest question regarding the flex is what level of hockey are you playing/how experienced are you.

I'm about the same size as you and I use an 85 flex. I would say a lie does make a big difference. I once bought the wrong lie on a blade and I had to scrap it, I just could not get used to it.

I'd say 5 is the average. The wrong lie can make a huge difference. You don't really get to pick your lie. You have to try and find one with the right lie for you.

77 isn't too whimpy, but that's up to you. However, I'd buy an 85. It's easy to play with a stick that is a little to stiff then one that to whippy.

It's personal preference.

I use a 75 flex, I'm 5'9, 170 (though a girl so take it for what you want). My brother who is 6'5, 250 lbs uses an 85 flex.

I use an 85 Synergy and I'm 6'3 240 lbs.

I'm a big fan of softer flexes. I used to use an old 110 Ultralite but found my shot was better when I experemented with softer flexes. Sure I bend the stick in half occasionally, but I like softer flexes for my wrister. I do wear out sticks pretty fast however.

Oh, and lastly, there is a huge difference between a 5 and a 6 lie.
