Team 70's dominates with the power of disco, but Team 80's counters with the vicious grip of hair spray.

Cashman Clarke Gainey - Elite Checking Line

Potvin Orr

Savard Lapointe

During the lockout, NHL.com ran a sim league picking an all-star team from each decade, using only Canadian players. The 1990s team won, and the 70s team finished in last place, but their team from the 70s was a little weaker from yours:

Shutt Esposito LaFleur
Barber Clarke Leach
Martin Perreault Robert
Hadfield Sittler McDonald

Orr Robinson
Savard Park
LaPointe Korab

Jerry Korab????? Potvin isn`t there because he`s on the 80s team, but there`s dozens of 70s defencemen who were better than Korab. Even with just Buffalo defencemen, I`d take Schoenfeld or Hajt first.

Team 00s is pretty decent for a six year squad:

I'm guessing guys like Crosby/Ovechkin will be part of it by the end of the decade, but I can't quite put them on there after just one year of excellence. Hasek and a few others probably would also be off it.

I tend to like team 80s as the best of the four, but Orr/Potvin/Park/Robinson blows my mind.

Yes, sideburns can be intimidating, but perms are the bomb.

The bottom line is, you have arguably the two greatest forwards, if not players, in NHL history, on the 80's team. They win, IMO.
