Deal.

I am still not sold on Martin Straka though. Caron would be a great addition and when Hasek retires Caron/Legace tandem would be great.

No chance in hell this happens.

Somehow I don't see the Pens giving up Caron and taking on Joseph's $16 million after this season. A more realistic trade would be Straka for Hudler.

I'm not sure if the Ducks would bite, but it'd be *very* nice if we could move Straka for Visnevski. The Pens would get younger, save some dough, and get STEVE MCKENNA out of the defensive zone.

No, the Pens don't need a veteran goaltender. If they wanted one, they would've kept Hedberg for a fraction of the price that Joseph comes at. And we don't want to give up our other good young goaltender. The Pens stay very far away from this one.

nno way

haha fat chance..

pens are rebuilding.. they arent planning to win anytime soon.. the best they can hope for is winning in the future.. joseph would cost them more than the rest of their payroll defeating the whole purpose!! no go on that one!

No thanks from a Pens perspective.

Counter:

McKenna, Straka

For

Hudler

Pittsburgh doesn't need to spend any more money. Period. Also, Caron and Fleury make a fine tandem for pittsburgh, whether they consider themselves a playoff team or not(i do not, but whatever).

What the pens need is good young talent.

I think I would do that deal from a Pens perspective. Kraft is playing well with increased ice time and could help soften the blow of losing Straka. Pretty much Pittsburgh dumps salary and gets a good young prospect in return. I'm not sure that the Pens would have Hudler on the big club as CP doesn't seem to like rushing players (he has advised Whitney to finish collage before turning pro). I'd do anything to get McKenna off the blueline. Hudler is less than what I hope the Pens will get for Straka, but A LOT more than I fear.

I am not quite sure why everyone thinks Hudler would be part of a package coming to the Pens. We passed on him in the draft a couple of times, i.e. we could have had him for nothing. Why would we give up a top three forward for him now???
