why are we slipping?

what is the deal??
why are we slipping from what was a good stretch?
was the begining just a fluke - again?

Heave Ho 7 in a row!

You know somethings wrong when you see this

Mark Messier 8G 2A +7
Chris Simon 2G 5A +6

Alexi Kovalev 2G 8A -5
Anson Carter 3G 1A -4
Petr Nedved 4G 4A -2

That's just plain sad...........Don't get me wrong I'm glad Mess is scoring as well as Simon is somewhat carrying his weight but it's pathetic to see kovalev carter and nedved combining for ONE more goal than Messier has. This team is in a sad state.

There are fundamental flaws in the make-up of our team and until the GM decides to address it, we will always be losers. Hockey is a hard working man's sport, and you can't win with a talented but very lazy, over-the-hill team. It's really as simple as that

---Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. The team is full of one-dimensional players who don't bring it every night. The only reason this team has a shot at the playoffs is that so many other teams in the conference are mired in mediocrity. We're 20 percent of the way into the season, and the Rangers have only one win on the road, and one win against a team with a winning record. They are an inconsistent, soft and poorly-coached team. They'd be 10 games under .500 if it weren't for Dunham.

Your leading goalscorer is over 40 years old. That right there sums up why the streak has gone the other way...

Being a Rangers fan must be alot like being a Bruins fan, except that you don't have to wait half a season to find out that you've been tricked again.

imagine what will happen when kovalev carter and nedved start going. this team might go places. a 500 team might be ten games over 500 in january.

Why are we slipping?

1. Because Glen Sather is the GM
2. Because Glen Sather is the Coach
3. See 1 & 2.

I don't know why we're slipping, but I'd bet it has something to do with the fact that Jaromir Jagr doesn't play here.

Let's get him!!!!!!

WHEN? hahahaha you must be a new Ranger fan. See here's the thing, I'll let you in on a secret, this team hasn't made the playoffs in 6 years and hasn't shown any sign of significant improvement.

Ten games over 500 lol hahahaha I challenge you to find when the last time the Rags were 10 games over 500 and stayed there for more than one game before plummeting down to under 500.

You need to lay off the crack pipe man and actually sit and watch a full game. This team has ZERO chemistry, the man running the show is stuck in the 80's and the owner doesn't know a damn thing about hockey.
I as much as the next Ranger fan wants this team to do good, but you need to make the difference clear between want and WILL....

I'm saying it right now, and I'll eat my words if i have to.......This team in no way shape or form makes the playoffs with Sather behind the bench this year, and Messier getting 17 minutes a game.

i need to lay off the crack pipe like you need to lay off the donuts. i am optomistic. ten games over 500 is not unreasonable. its a new season things can change. what do the last 6 years have to do with this season. for a team that missed its best player for the first three weeks and has been without lindros its says something we are 500. a bad week of hockey will not ruin this season. everybody needs to calm down

First off, if the last 6 years taught us anything (which to some of us, it hasn't) it's that nothing changes around here.

Second, your argument about our best player missing 3 weeks is thrown out the window when its seen that the team played better without him than with him.

And third, you/Sather are calm enough for all of us. Some people actually demand accountability, you sir do not.

Yes indeed. You know that the Rangers get worse as all the other teams improve as the season progresses.

YOu got it. One difference though. The bruins at least TRY to put a good team on the ice.

Can I ask you a question? When did you start watching sports in general? 3 hours ago?

You tell me how a team that has been god aweful the last 6 years coming into this season going to go 10 games over .500 in january? Let me show you something. This is how predictable and scripted this team is:

THIS WILL MAKE US 9 games UNDER .500. WATCH. If you've ever watched the rangers, you will know this to be true. Otherwise, you are lying to yourself:

now that IS funny.

sorry guys, here in US Army-land I have not gotten to view a game yet this year. Not even a stinking pre-season. All I get is newspaper and website reviews.

It sure does get old watching Sather ruin our team.

How many chances does one get at it? If I performed my job like that I would be fired. So would all of us. Think about that. If you constantly underperformed and took on more then you could chew at work would you NOT be fired too?? HELL YES!
Sather has got to go. Seems he has lost touch with todays players. What he did in the '80s with the Oilers can not be done today - not by him anyways.
FIRE HIS A S S!!!!

Sather does have to go, but it is doubtfull that it occurs this year. He is the team president, GM, & coach. Dolan would have to fill 3 positions. Plus, we are all forgetting the fact that lil' Jimmy absolutely LOVES Jackass for whatever reason. I think that Sather is going to quit after this year, because he is not going to want to deal with the new CBA. But if he does not, it is doubtfull that Dolan will let him go. Let's recall the rumors that Dolan wanted to extend his contract after last year and that Sather was the one who turned it down.
