I hope you're right on the record and the finals... and wrong on the Boyes being traded.

If you look at the Sens status quo the last few years, Boyes won't be going anywhere for at least a little while.

Great thread hckyguy...

Bruins record?
43-33-6, 8th in the conference.

Rookie of the Bruins? The rookie you think will impress and play above and beyond all other rookies on the Bruins?
Toivonen will challenge Malkin for ROY.

Veteran that will step up and have an outstanding season?
Stuart & Sturm- it's a contract time.

Second year player that will step up and have an outstanding season?
Milan Jurcina.

Second year player that will have the 'sophmore slump'?
Tim Thomas.

Who will earn most of the starts in goal?
Toivo

Suprise event/player/happening of the year?
Murray bursts out of the gate to rack up 20 goals in the first 30 games, and is immediately dealt for a gritty forward.

7th player award?
Bergeron. We expect good things, but we expected good things last year and he exceeded expectations then too. I think he takes it to another level this year, and is recognized league-wide as belonging in a class with other young dynamo's like Staal, Crosby and Spezza.

Player that will have an outstanding camp but not perform in the playoffs?
Marc Savard, he's never been to the playoffs, so he won't know what to expect.

A call up from Providence that will earn thier way?
M. Stuart & Collins. I think because of his age and maturity Collins will be able to adjust to the pro game faster than the Special K's.

Over under on trades made prior to the deadline?
1 deal prior to the deadline (bye, bye Muzz) and 1 deal on deadline day to acquire a more dynamic 3rd center.

Biggest BUST?
Hazel Mae Tim Thomas, hope I'm wrong though.

Your Boston Bruins MVP?
Chara. He's acted like the captain from day 1. I think he sets the tone for this team and that tone will be toughness and hard work. He'll be the main reason they climb out of the basement.

Anyother predictions you would lilke to make in regards to the Bruins?
The B's have an Anaheim '06 type of season, where despite trading away a big name player and their leading goal scorer (Muzz), go on to scratch their way into the playoffs and then make some noise in the big dance by upsetting Ottawa in the first round.

Alberts is a hitting machine and starts to look like a top4 blueliner, but is dealt for more scoring depth, and to make room for another rugged stay-at-homer in M. Stuart.

The B's currently have $4mil in cap space, not to mention you only acquire a pro-rated salary at the deadline, so a team with only $1mil in space can acquire a $3mil player (roughly) and still fit him under the cap.

i said without sending out a big name. is glen murray a big name outside of bruinsville? hardly. packaging murray with a young defenseman could definitely bring in a big name, much in the same vein of the voldemort trade that happened last season. i'd hardly consider sturm/stuart/primeau to be big names...

anywho, hardly enough to warrant a mention. just a wild guess.

I had a picture of myself with Busty from the days of the Golden Banana that I destroyed once I got married Let me put it this way- you know the neck braces football players wear ...I remember a bunch of us had them taken and I would not be suprised if someone has one lying around but the first thing you do when you get married (if your smart) is destroy incriminating evidence of your past

Agreed. My wife and I recently had an encounter with a high-school girlfriend of mine (along with her four kids). Fortunately, the past 20 years have been less than kind to her, and if anything, the wife got a good laugh at my expense. Sometimes, the past is best left in...the past.

Here are a few questions to get us started:

Bruins record? not a "record", but I'm predicting just short of .600 pct. Damn, I hate the OTL!

Rookie of the Bruins? The rookie you think will impress and play above and beyond all other rookies on the Bruins? Kalus

Veteran that will step up and have an outstanding season? CHARA!

Second year player that will step up and have an outstanding season? Mark Stuart

Second year player that will have the 'sophmore slump'? Alberts...he does qualify as 2nd year, correct?

Who will earn most of the starts in goal? Toivonen

Suprise event/player/happening of the year? I'll take a stab on Axlesson getting a hat-trick in a game. It's a longshot, but hey, LaPointe and McInnis each had one a few years ago...

Over under on Jack Edwards horrid line use of the following:
Stick a fork in......Zhamnov....too easy
Send it down the river.........Petr Tenkrat

7th player award? Marco Sturm. I love this guy.

Player that will have an outstanding camp but not perform in the playoffs? Phil Kessel

A call up from Providence that will earn thier way? Kalus

Over under on trades made prior to the deadline? Not sure...

Biggest BUST? Donovan

Your Boston Bruins MVP? Bergeron....easy.

Anyother predictions you would lilke to make in regards to the Bruins?
Alberts will be surprizing. Kessel will leave us wondering if he should have seasoned in college (though not overly terrible), We'll be understanding why the B's paid so much for Bergeron, we'll be frustrated by Murray, Axlesson will have a breakout year, Goaltending might have some scary moments, there will be no more "Joe" threads by December, Boyes will be Boyes (sorry for the bad joke), and Chara will teach the corps how it is supposed to be. We will make the playoffs, but the corps will be surely tested. Will the B's win the cup this year? I don't know, but I think we'll see a decent season. Then again, I said this last year....
