Most Missed 'Bolt?

So, who is the player who played for us any year that you miss the most?

I miss Khabibulin, but he blew his chance at even more successful years for money..

We haven't even played a game without him yet, but I'll def. miss Freddy alot this year.

I always missed Rob Zamuner after he left. He was one of the lone bright spots in many dark years.

Obviously the easy answer is Khabby. I dont blame him really for what he did, given the same scenario, we all would have made the same decision, I believe.

I agree with Modin, I think he will be missed this year.

Everyone who knows me knows I'll say Khabi, so I might as well do it! Broke my heart, but he'll always be my favorite.

Seeing the team this year without long time fixtures like Mo and Kuby will be weird. I guess I've gotten used to it, but no Andreychuk was strange for a while. He wasn't here long, but his impact was huge. He'll always be the #1 C for me.

This brings up a question that I don't feel like looking up: Who's the longest tenured Bolt now that Kuby's gone anyway? Vinny?

After a brief scan through the media guide, (Yes I finally found it ) it appears that Vinny is the longest tenured, followed by Cory Sarich.

I have to say Khabby, and of course Dave and Modin.

And yes, I do believe Vinny is now the longest-tenured Bolt.

Ciccone although I know he has no business being on the team now.

You would have missed way more Denis than Modin.

Khabibulin, one of my favorite players. (Even from when he was in Phoenix.)

Although each players time in a Bolts uniform was short, it was a pleasure seeing greats like Dino Ciccarelli, Denis Savard and Wendel Clark play in Tampa.

I was a big Brian Bradley, Rob Zamuner and Daren Puppa fan. Stan Drulia comes to mind, but mainly because of his time with the Atlanta Knights, not necessarily the Lightning.

I would love to see Darcy Tucker back in a Lightning uniform. Say what you want about the guy, hes the kinda guy every NHL team needs.

I already miss Modin.

Stan Drulia, Chris LiPuma and J.C. Bergeron for me. And while I'm at it, throw in Bill McDougall, Jim Cummins and Jason Ruff, too.

But I miss those listed mainly for their years here in Georgia for the Atlanta Knights. But I still cheered for them when they played with Tampa Bay as well.

That said, I agree with everyone stating Khabibulin and Modin. Because they're both solid NHL players. I've liked Khabibulin ever since I first saw him. He was great in net for the Russian Penguins who toured the old IHL during the 93-94 season.

In fact, we gave him a standing ovation after our Atlanta Knights beat him and the Russian Penguins 2-1 in the old Omni. He was the only reason we didn't blow them out. It should have been 10-1 but he was in the zone that night. Wendell Young was the Knights goalie that night.

Well that's enough for my trip down memory lane, see ya and take care folks.

Most recently, Andreychuk. He's the only individual player that I have ever cheered for and my motto through the 2003-04 playoffs was "It's all about Dave".

Going back, I'd have to say John Cullen. Always liked his effort on the ice and when he went through the cancer treatments. I still wear the "12" shamrock on my jersey that they handed out when he can back for that opening face off.

*looking around*

KHABI COME BACK!

Ahem...

Already miss Fred of Fred and Martie's Excellent Adventure. I'm gonna miss Pavel "Kuby fly plane" Kubina, mainly because he's the 2nd-biggest nickname magnet.

Dino "Eat something, will you, I worry" Ciccarelli, Daren "I love it when you call me Big" Puppa, The DA, Dan the Man, Brian "Third from the Right" Bradley, and remember Rudy (done in a Bill Cosby voice) Poescheck?

It speaks volumes that no one has mentioned Roman Hamrlik by now. He may have scored a ton of points when he was with us but his on ice presence was close to nil.

Lots of good names mentioned above... From the early years guys like Mike Hartman or Rob Ramage etc... who gave us a serious effort night-in, night-out are stilled missed if you were one of the season ticket holders from 92 to 98.

My all-time most missed player would have to be Alexander Selivanov. Brian Bradley was Tampa's first natural offensive talent but Selivanov was the first European style offensive player we had that could dazzle us with slick dekes and shifty plays. I respect that he was no Pavel Bure but Selivanov had some very tricky moves he would demostrate from time to time. My favorite was where he would get around a defender by making a forward pass to himself off the boards. I know there are better players or harder workers but I always liked Selivanov. Last I heard he was playing for Krefeld in Germany and still married to Espo's daughter.
