OT: Help for a Visitor

Hey arch nemesisis, Im an Oiler fan, me and my buddy are going to Brazil for the Christmas/New Years Break, and we have a stop over in Texas on DEC. 23rd, I just checked the Oilers schedule and theyre in Dallas that night...

So, how hard is it to get tickets to Stars games, are they always sold out way in advance? Also how far a drive is Dallas from Houston?

What hotels do you suggest that are preferably close to the arena?

Whats the price range for tickets to a Stars game?

thanks in advance guys, see you in December.

Well tickets are never really sold out way in advance, if at all (although during the holidays things do change, esp against edm).
The Drive from Houston is long, 5-6 Hours.
And that's all I got.

www.stubhub.com for ticket prices & tickets

www.hotels.com for hotels I think everything really close to the arena is pretty s****y so....ya might have to find something more reasonable about 5-10miles away.

Dallas to Houston is a straight shot on a major interstate. I can make it in four hours, but I drive fast.

As for hotels, it depends on your price range. The AAC is downtown, so the really close stuff is going to be pricy. If you have an unlimited budget, they just opened the W Hotel about a block away from the AAC. It's super high end, but by far the closest.

The AAC is right off the freeway, so you'd have an easy drive to most local chain hotels.

If you want to stay where the visiting teams stay (or at least, where they used to stay), it's the hotel right next to Reunion Arena. I believe it's a Hilton.

You can buy single game tickets for any game on Saturday (I believe) for one day. Regular tickets should go on sale in early November for the December game. I'd suggest buying them early, as the selection gets limited the longer you wait. It may not sell out, but the Stars average 95 percent capacity, and the lines of sight can really vary within the AAC.

Dallas is 4 hours from downtown Houston. You should be able to get tickets at AAC the day of the game.

The time it takes really depends on the time of day.

I-45 can be a mess in traffic. All the major freeways in downtown Dallas come together in a fairly tight area. If you hit it before 3 or after 6:30 you're good (mornings it's before 6:30 or after 9:30). Weekends are pretty clear.

I'd assume there can be similar problems coming out of Houston.

Make sure to stop by La Hacienda Ranch to order the best beef fajitas ever put upon this earth. A visit to Dallas is not complete without a stop there.
