I say you should not judge his performance for 10 games. This is a serious step forward.

I think I just crapped my pants.

So much for Oates saying he would only sign with a contender...

No kidding. When was the last time we signed someone or traded up. I'm in shock.

Quick, lets sign a defenceman before the buzz wears off.

Good move... he is great on the draws (which we need)...

I wonder how much... he apparantly wanted 2+ mil and to play on a contender (seeing as Edmonton isn't really a contender, I wonder if they had to sweeten the deal?)

We're definately getting closer. Couple of players away from being "dangerous".

Seems like a good move, although I kind of wonder why noone else had signed him by now...

They probaly agreed to try and find him a contender to trade him to at the trade deadline, just a hunch.

wow, we actually have two scoring lines

smyth-oates-hemsky
torres-york-dvorak

and a guy that can win some faceoffs. Great move by Lowe, as long as the contract is decent.

We shouldn't get too excited just yet. Mizral hasn't had a chance to tell us what is wrong with it yet. Sorry. Couldn't resist!

This could turn out to be a really good signing OR it could blow up in the Oilers face like the Dopita experiment. If Oates pans out, which I think he will, he should get the Oilers 50 points this year. Either way good for the Oilers to actually get off their wallet. Now get some return for Comrie and you got urself a team...

Christmas came early for Oilers fans

This probably spells the end of Peter Sarno's days in the 'Chuck (too bad for Pete, he played reasonably well in his time here.)

Any word on who's been sent down?
