Witht he recent signing of Adam Oates, you predict the line combos when everyone is back in the lineup and healthy....here i'll start

Torres Smyth Hemsky
York Oates Dvorak
Moreau Reasoner Isbister
Chimera Horcoff Laraque

Brewer Cross
Smith Staois
Fergy Smenov

Conklin
Salo

Not a bad line-up. It won't win us the cup but we should at least make the playoffs.

Where is Comrie in that lineup, because we all know he is signing this week!

And I don't care what the rest of the lineup is setup like, I just want to see:

Torres - Oates - Smyth

Hell... for all we know we'll have a third line of Smyth and Pisani and SWANSON!! But here's what i'd do:

Smyth-Oates-Hemsky
Torres-York-Dvorak
Moreau-Stoll-Pisani
Izzy-Horcoff-Laraque

I'd actually like to see Sarno or Salmo in the lineup instead of Horcoff some how though.

We have a well above a

I like what you've done with the top two lines... I'll keep 'em and change up the third/fourth:

Isbister Reasoner Salmelainen
Moreau Stoll Pisani

Boldly sitting Horcoff (who'll fill in for Reasoner), Chimera (who'll fill in for Izzy), and Laraque (who can rotate in on the 3rd).

The idea is having a third scoring unit and a fourth checking line... which has looked good the last couple of games.

All you've did is switch the order in which you'd write them. But if Moreau Pisani and Stoll are the checking line still - they are the third line. There is no such thing as a "third" scoring line. It's just the fourth line.

Whatever.

If you want to switch the order that's fine. I just put it that way as I figured the Reasoner line would see more minutes. I say third scoring line, because I see it as more offensive-minded than an energy line.

Just curious but why on earth would you put the leading goalscorer and arguably best player so far this season back on the 4th line where he'd be seing no more than 8 minutes of action a game?

I think the whole point of the signing was to get Oates to play middle between Smyth and Hemsky. I think the Smyth at center experiment is dead now.

MacT plays who ever is the best that night, so he rolls all 4 lines in the 1st period, then lets the best players play, giving little time to even top line guys like hemsky who are not playing good

Torres can still score even on the 4th line and if he keeps it up and Izzy falls, switch them or put Izzy in the PB and have Chimmer on the 4th line

either way, I will stick by Izzy until I am convinced he is no better then Kilger

edit: and this way Torres won't be rushed into a scoring role and it let him develop into one

I agree, Izzy should get a few more chances before everyone decides he should leave Edmonton. If I were MacT, I wouldn't ever put Hemsky and Oates together, because they are such great passers (you dont expect Smyth to get all the goals, do you?).

Smyth-York-Hemsky
Torres-Oates-Dvorak
Moreau-Reasoner-Pisani
Isbister-Stoll-Laraque

Chimera and Horcoff as the PB regulars until traded.

Hemsky and Oates shouldnt be on a line together.

I totally agree with that. Oates and Hemsky are both pass first players, not a good idea to stick them together. Now more than ever, I really want to trade some forward depth(MC included) for help on D. Those lines look great, it'd be nice to get Isbister top 6 minutes, but there's just not room for him up there, so either he works his ass off to become a top 6 guy, or the Oilers have an injury on the left side, and there's no worries

Smyth - Oates - Dvorak (crasher, passer, sniper)
Torres - York - Hemsky (crasher, sniper, passer)
Moreau - Reasoner - Pisani (all defensively responsible...adds offense as well)
Isbister - Stoll - Laraque (power, steady, power)

Chimera and Horcoff in PB

Those lines look good, or if we could use Laraque along with comrie too fetch a dman. I agree that Hemsky and Oates shoudl not be on the same line, I would go with something like this:

1. Smyth-Oates-Dvorak: Should be a fairly solid first line; Dvorak and Smyth will get lots of scoring chances.
2. Torres-York-Hemsky: York can carry a line, and torres can bang in those hemsky feeds(hemsky and torres were hot early in the season together).
3. Moreau-Reasoner-pisani: Why change something that works so well.
4. Isbister-Stoll-Salmelainen: Should be a good line that can still pot a few.
PB: Chimera, Horcoff: For obvious reasons.

I really like these lines. A team has to decide who to put their top defensive unit up against. They will most likely pick Smyth-Oates-Dvorak for obvious reasons but when you follow that with Torres-York-Hemsky, we still have a pretty powerful 2nd line.

How long has it been since it was this much fun playing with the forward lines for this team. Big, big Kudos to Klowe.

I want to try something different.

Smyth-Oates-Isbister
Torres-York-Dvorak
Moreau-Reasoner-Pisani
Chimera-Stoll-Hemsky

Hemsky gets 1st line pp time and gets an opportunity to crank up his game without first line attention plus to play on the pp.

Smyth - York - Hemsky on one line is too weak on the puck. Both York and Hemsky have trouble with gaining puck control on a dump in.

Having Oates and Hemsky on a line together might teach/force Hemmer into shooting more. I'm not sure if that would be the case, but it's worth a shot.

Comrie will be traded for a D-man and packaged with somebody who plays on the right side (Dvo, Pisani, Isbister, Laraque, Salmalainen, Rita)

Perfect Lines...I wouldn't give up on Chimera/Horcoff though
