Great show tonigh BTW.. Pretty interesting guests with smart comments unlike the 110% clowns...
The interviewer said he personally likes Ribs and all and asked Carbo if he planned to take him under his wing and all..
Carbo: "it wont be different regarding Ribs than it will for the 23 other players... I will give him the chance to run but he will have to fill his shoes, stand up and run by his own"
Traded to Atlanta for a 6th rounder, a bitter Ribeiro declares: "If only Carbo had given me a real chance... Things didn't work out for me in Montreal but it's all the media's fault ! "

Atlanta teamates Ribeiro, Kovalchuck lock up Art Ross, Richard. Montreal drafts Mattias Tjarnds with their 6th rounder.
"Au contraire" My prediction: Koivu vision will affect his play, Samsonov+Kovalev+Ribeiro will be MTL first line and Ribeiro will be amazing this season and end no.1 scorer on the team.
I don't understand all the bashing on Ribeiro... it remembers me the season were Brisebois was booed for no reason and ended with a +17. Ribeiro will be helped by Koivu's injury, the absence of an other good centerman that can lead a PP and quality linemates. Adding he has a one year contract, all the ingredients are there for him to be selected in my hockey pool. ;-)

and then Ribs declares : " from the press box, I really had the best seat to appreciate how much those guys are talented; I was a healthy scratch for 47 games this year cause Bob Hartley doesn't know real talent when he sees it. The media here in Atl has a personnal vendettta against me. Poor little misunderstood me... "
4 months later on hockeysfuture.com: "Darkhorse Mattias Tjarnds tears it up in camp for the Habs and is now considered front runner for the Calder "
Strangely I think there is a greater chance of Ribs being the Habs points leader than him being waived. Not that I think either is likely. Ribs will most likely end up in the top 5 in points again this year. Can't really see him do any worse than last year in any case.

Yes because he sure showed us he could step up in the absence of Koivu during the playoffs...
He's a loser and a bum and we must get rid of him, the final piece of the terrible trio..

Thinking of getting rid of Ribeiro when you still haven't seen how he does this year is weak. But as you're using Mikhail Grabovsky name I can forgive you.
Ribeiro hasn't been a game breaker but is sure a good center. Knowing he will be centering Kovy and Samsonov I can wait and see, we never know. There is nothing urgent about getting rid of him. I say give him the benefit of the doubt and we'll see how he does when games get shown on tv. Then if you feel the need, tired of Rib, tell everyone you wanna see Gainey put him on waivers.
being a bruin fan i know how we feel about Ribiero. but i was wondering how montreal fans feel about his style of play and the roles he fills on the canadian team.

He's not nearly as bad as most think he is, but the Habs do need an upgrade here. Most will admit that. However, I also wouldn't be surprised to see the 03-04 Ribeiro this year.

Pick a thread - any thread. This subject's been beaten to the ground.
he will be our first center this season , playing with Samsonov and Kovalev .
Since the mid-season last year , Ribeiro progress a lot in his overall game . Also this summer , he worked really hard on the two things ; his speed and his strengh .
Finally we are going to get the player we dream of , for years . Ribeiro surprised everybody today ; faster and stronger , he bulks up and get 23 pounds of muscles . Watch him this season !
Kyle Grabovsky could very possibly steal Ribeiro's job.
The thing with Grabovsky is that he could be used as an exemple for a guy like Emelin. Grabo came over, did well, got a great spot on the team. This could get Emelin thinking.
