Tukonen’s professional debut with the AHL’s Manchester Monarchs was not overly spectacular by any stretch, but he appeared to make a relatively smooth adjustment to North American hockey. In 62 games, Tukonen scored a respectable 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points. Tukonen also played a key role in leading Team Finland to a bronze medal at the 2006 WJC, scoring three goals and seven assists for 10 points in seven games. A strong skating forward in the making with a bullet of a shot, Tukonen is still somewhat raw and likely needs one more year of seasoning in the AHL before being considered for regular duty in Los Angeles.

I guess that means Sully and Kopitar are our only ones in the top 25. Here's to hoping they are both in the top 10.

Hopefully Lewis and Bernier are in the top 50 come spring.

That means Kings are one of 5 teams with 3 men in top 50. Nice..
BTW, when do first 25 come out?

With Tukonen's shoulder issues, I'm surprised he made the top 50.

Agreed, although I have to question Corey Perry being included on this list- the guy's already graduated, in my opinion. 56 regualr season and 11 playoff games......

So...Cam Ward is still a "prospect", despite leading a team to a Stanley Cup and getting the Conn Smythe?

I don't think you'd get much argument from people if you put Perry in the graduated pile, but I suppose there is no perfect system, and you need something quantifiable instead of a subjective rating that a guy's not a prospect anymore.

No...it is. Except it is a popularity contest among 10-20 writers instead of 100-200 (mostly) informed fans.

How about this:
http://www2.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/players/Patrick_O'Sullivan/

2001-2002: CHL - Rookie of the Year (Canadian Major Junior)
2005-2006: AHL - Dudley "Red" Garret Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year)

Season Team League GP G A PTS +/- PIM PCT
2005 Houston AHL 78 47 46 93 5 64 --

I guess some guys will never get the respect they deserve...

Not in the Top 10? Okay, whatever. Not in the top 50? Wow. And to put Tukonen ahead of him....

P.S. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, I respect the work you guys do compiling these lists. Just up for some healthy debate.
