yah, Frolik had 3 points last night, and was named first star of his team. But he was'nt the center of the line : The first line was Gratchev - Tanguay (Alex brother) - Frolik

Maybe moved to wing because of his shoulder? Faceoffs would require a little more exertion from it.

Frolik has 10 points in 7 games. Hopefully he start to put up 2 PPG pace. If he is as good as we all hope, thats the kinda numbers you'd hope he would put up.

Ok Rimouski loses 4-1 tonight, Frolik with no points, a minus-1 and 5 shots but somehow he was named 2nd star of the game. I don't get this, I know Rimouski is bad though this year so maybe he's creating tons of chances and passing it off and his linemates can't finish or something like that. It seems like every game he plays he's one of the 3 stars of the game even when he's not on the scoresheet. That's a very positive sign IMO because he's obviously doing things in the game to catch notice even when he's not scoring. Hopefully he starts breaking out bigtime soon. He's put up some pretty solid numbers so far, considering his team isn't supposed to be that good but I hope to see him with 3 goal, 3+ point games.

It's not that he wasn't supposed to be good, it's that he disappointed in his last year in the Czech league, and some suspected he was simply outmatched playing with older men. To be honest, I think more is actually expected of him in juniors than he's shown so far, but the shoulder injury he sustained might be the nagging kind, who knows - also, a lack of talent in his fellow teammates can impact his stats, so that can also be a factor. I'm happy with what I've heard of his on-ice performance so far. It's whether or not he's able to build up muscle off-ice that's of concern.

He scored 3 goals, 3 assists in the two games, so 6 points in 2 games for him in his last two. Maybe he had some minor issue because he showed up today and yesterday.

Stewart and Kreps look completely lost right now. They haven't contributed a thing.

Our prospects!
At least Frolik and Lapoint have hope, what is wrong with Stewart?

Kreps and Stewart looked good in juniors also. And then came the AHL.

HANOVER, N.H. Heavy wind and rain left a few folks in the Upper Connecticut River valley without power early yesterday. Actually, it wasn't gone; the juice had all been sent to Dartmouth's Thompson Arena for last night's power play-fest with Vermont.

The 17th-ranked Big Green and 19th-ranked Catamounts combined for 26 minor penalties, 21 man advantages and four man-up goals. Tanner Glass had the difference-maker, banging a second-chance shot past UVM's Joe Fallon at 1:35 of the third period to give Dartmouth a 3-2 victory.
Granted it was effectively on a 5-on-3, since Colin Vock had been out of the box for one second and another Catamount was still in it for another 7 seconds.

mmm. Tanner Glass. The final and publicized Ovechkin pick. Didn't get Ovechkin and odds are Glass won't be in Florida either. But Glass will always have a place in Panther fans' hearts.

As "the guy that could have been Ovechkin, if only the league were run by guys as willing to grasp at straws as Cohen?"

Stewart also looked good in the NHL and AHL before his injury and whatever other problems with desire or else that he had. Kreps's success never really transferred from the OHL. He's a decent AHLer when he's playing but he wasn't really all that great in juniors either. Lapoint is playing unbelievably it seems in the USHL, I'm really surprised he's dominating it like this, you have to be really good to dominate the USHL so that says a lot.

A PPG in the USHL is very good. I know little about the league, but didn't Okposo get like a PPG last year? LaPoint is a defenseman so a PPG is awesome.
Stewart just doesn't have the effort. 2003 draft just gets worse.

Is there something I am missing or unaware of? Care to explain?

Someone needs to take him aside and tell him that all his dreams and all that his mentors have invested in him are about to be for nothing if he doesn't realize that effort is the most important thing a pro athlete can contribute, and excuses are for losers.

lol, we were robbed of Oveckin. ABSOLUTELY FREAKIN ROBBED.

We tried to draft in the 2003 draft in the 7th round, on the arguement that it was a leap year or something, and considering Oveckhin was very close to the cut off point, he was eligible. The NHL wouldn't let us draft him.

I can imagine that if that had worked, many teams would right now becoming up with ways to draft Tavares this year.

As for Stewart, i think people probably have tried to change his ways. Only Stewart can do that though. It is actually similar to what is going on with Horton right now. Horton can just about get away with it because he is that talented, but he needs get his act together. Stewart should have the motivation to make the NHL, and try and dominate the A.
