Sorry people...I kind of forgot about this little exercise. But, here we go...rank the goalies. I think this one'll get a more mixed result than the last, due to the varying opinions of the personnel...should be interesting.
I'm going with a 7 because I honestly believe that two solid starters in net has the potential for a very good overall situation.
Say what you will about Cloutier, but you don't win 30+ games 3 years in a row by completely sucking, and his numbers have always been better than average, that said I also think a lot of any goalies performance and stats needs to also be tempered by the quality of the defence and forwards in front of him, and I think this year the Kings will have mostly a solid D and many forwards that know how to play defensively responsible, lastly considering this and compared to what we had last year, I'm also of the opinion Garon may still end up being the better overall goalie, and may take the starters job away from Cloutier. When the 'Team' was healthy and playing well in front of him, Garon was the Goalie of the Month if I remember right, so if both goailes and the team can remain healthy, Garon & Cloutier should be a very good 1 - 2.
8. I admit it's questionable, but I think Cloutier and Garon will work well together, and both have enough talent for good regular season performance. It's the post season and lack of experience/success that concerns me.
8. People can say what they want, and ***** about Cloutier (I am not a big fan either). But up till now he has been a solid regular season golie, his play and stats back that up (Yes I know stats do not mean everything, hence adding "play"). From there we got two more then capable back-ups, one of which most think is better then Cloutier meaning we have two legit (Not amazing but solid) number ones.
