Locke in the Pre-Season

I guess this is Locke's 3rd Pre-Season with the Canadiens. I'm kind of interesed in him since he seems to have the same success in the OHL as Shremp and apparently the same types of weaknesses (Speed, size, 5 on 5). Has Locke been impressive on the powerplay in any of the exhibition games he has played in, in the past? Has he put up decent point totals in his pre-season games the past two years?

With all due respect to Cory Locke, Schremp is a much better player

A small player like Locke has to work on his speed or he will never make the NHL...if he works on his speed then he has to worry about being able to take the body which i dont know if he can....from what i hear he still doesnt have the speed so his time might be running out

Has he put up good point totals in the pre-season though, or is he just invisible?

Just wondering if its the same situation where he might put up some points, but other things will keep him off the team.

I am like 100% sure that Locke will end up being a Leaf one day.

I'm 110% sure of that!! It's been my prediction since day 1, well...since a year or more now!! (also knowing from checking yearbook that he's from Toronto).

Locke and a 4th rounder for Tlusty!! (the only decent Leafs prospect!!).

Im not convinced, I rather think he is AHL material for life but if he end up being a Leafs, It sure is a great thing for the Habs!

don't be so sure , a lot of the same things were said about doug gilmour and look how he turned out . he might find his niche in the NHL , he just oozes natural talent like gilmour and i hope he can find his defensive game first and parlay that into a productive NHL career just like dougie did , stranger things have happened , i just hope it does'nt happen for him with the leafs .

it's been said for years, locke is a poor man's version of kyle wellwood.

he's just much smaller in size, slower, and weaker.

Reminds me of Simon Gamache and Brandon reid. Gamache tore up the AHL, Reid was also sucessfull in the AHL...cup of coffe in the NHL for both...now they are both in the Swiss league.

Locke is on the same path IMO.
