When we lose by more than 3 goals, the parade isn't just cancelled. The organizing committee is fired, the banners are burned for heat, and the entire parade route is dug up for a 4 year sewer replacement project.

But what if we win the next game by more than three? An absolute blowout... and there are no supplies left to work with?

I guess it would take a miracle to come back this late in the game.

I'm moving to Toronto to be a Leaf's fan, where parades are guaranteed.

Then we cancel the changes and hire a new planning group!

If When that happens we hire an army of treecutters to cut enough trees to keep a pulp and paper mill running for years, making the aforementioned banners.

It's all about ensuring our reaction is proportional.

Only if you finish in the top 20 in the league (thus ensuring that you're a top team). or the bottom 8 (thus ensuring a great draft pick who will be the next Gretzky). or the 21st best team (because you're rebuilding into becoming a powerhouse)

And those accomplishments are celebrated by the pride parade, right?

I just want to say lol.

I think I went cup crazy after the first pre-season game. It was quite a moment.

Anyways the first game of the regular season will decide or not decide EVERYTHING. I think Sens fans vary from sad to lump in the throat uneasy happiness. It's awesome.

So, is the parade back on? I think we can pencil Fisher in for four points every game, meaning that he should break all regular season records. That should provide second line scoring for us.

I think we should get Bates Battaglia. He'll put us over the top.

The Sens floats themselves are our poison.

Aye aye Captain.

A shame that I already set fire to a whole bunch of those floats after the Montreal game.

Thats ok we'll build new bigger floats. Everytime we have to cancel the parade things will just get bigger and better

We've slapped a quick coat of asphalt over the roadwork and filled the open manholes (with Leafs fans).

Mission control says parade status is nominal.

We need to make sure we have a separate float for each trophy we'll win, both team and individual:

Alfredsson - Hart

Spezza - Art Ross

Heatley - Richard

Redden - Norris

Preissing - Nobel Prize for Economics

I'm afraid I'm going to have to go ahead and cancel the parade again.

Here's the rationale:

1. Ottawa can only win in the regular season, not in the playoffs.

2. Ottawa has won two games in a row in the pre-season.

3. That is suspiciously close to regular season success.

4. Regular season success = post-season failure.

Sorry folks, parade is OFF!
