He's really doing well. Great to see.

Pitkanen just took a penalty. Hopefully we strike on this powerplay.

I think O'Neill got the goal.

If nothing else, at least we broke up the shutout. Still plenty of time left in the game though.

Weekes made some huge saves.

Team played real well.

I though the penalty call on Pitkanen where the Canes scored their first goal was a joke. It was a make-up call, because they could make a call on the huge hit by Brashear on Wesley. The hit wsa perfectly clean.

Williams made a bad play leading to the break for the Canes 2nd goal, and then Therien let Wallin beat him to the front of the net.

Can't be too disappointed with the effort, if he play like that we win 90% of our games played.

Time to keep the home ice winning streak alive on Thursday.

Damn, Weekes was amazing all game long. Thought the Flyers were gonna open it up and blow them out after the Kappy goal.

Weekes stole a point for Carolina tonite. The saves on JR were amazing.
I agree w/ John, that the Joni penalty was a makeup call. That happens evergame, and our Penalty kill has been awesome, those breaks happen.

I sure didn't care for that Wallin goal too much. It's one thing to go into the crease after the puck, a completely different one to make contact with the goaltender while he's making a save. Wallin certainly wasn't pushed into Hackett.

I guess the stripes didn't see it that way.

I agree with JFF:
What was Therien doing? He was between Wallin and the goal and then just let him drive right into Hackett. Get a body on him and lock up his stick. Man, with all the holding occurring, Therien could probably have takcled him and not gotten a call.

Niclas Wallin did nothing illegal. The puck hadn't been in the crease net. It hit Wallin while driving to the net. By the time Wallin was on top of Hackett the puck was already in the net. 80% of Michal Handzus' and John LeClair's game is based on play like that.

Actually it bounced off of Wallin when he was on top of Hackett. I think a case could be made for goaltender interferrence, but it would have been a close call.

I thought the four on four that opened up the ice and led to the tying goal was pretty bogus. Sorry, but Handzus got mugged in front of the net, and was jumped on by three other Canes. Matching minors for roughing was pretty outrageous considering that Zeus didn't do anything.

I agree.

Flyers games seem to always be poorly officiated. May be homerism but there's been a lot of bad calls.

Weekes was oustanding in net last night. He really stole a point. Congrats to him...His saves on Rico and Sami were tremendous!

Nice to see Gagné net another goal. He's hot! And I'm happy to see Somik back into the lineup. He seemed to have a good match.

Boy, you guys like to create debate over the most mundane of observations, and could probably drive the Pope to drink.

I saw the play, Kim, and several times at that. At no time is it legal to skate into the goaltender while he is in the crease. As I saw it, Wallin was into Hackett while the puck was still in play. He wasn't pushed or shoved into the goaltender, which leads me to believe he was there of his own free will. However, he might be a Determinist, which is an option I had not suspected and could drastically change the topic at hand.

"Eighty percent of Handzus's and LeClair's goals..." - my backside. Not only has this alleged quantified value not been quantified, but it is irrelevent to the play being discussed. I'm also pretty certain that it's statistically untrue, but I have to cut my losses somewhere and researching this further is where the line is drawn tonight.

This is why I bag my own groceries, and why I believe that half of all the things I read in this forum are ninety percent untrue.
