Now I feel bad about the Bertuzzi jab.

How did Adam Henrich look at camp?

Now in his third year, this is do or die time. Was one of the first cuts but had more points than most during scrimmages. How did he look?

Thanks

TB Rookie crop

Do you think any rookie d-men or fwds will make the team this year?

I don't think anyone will make the team who didn't get at least a cup of coffee last year. Tarnasky has a good chance it seems. Egener and Smaby are still up, but I'd be VERY surprised to see either make the team right out of camp.

LOL, I see you spammed every board with this question. Nice job.

The reply to the post pretty much explains what's going on with Henrich.

Ramo

So I've been reading that Ramo has been looking pretty good in training camp and exhibition. Whats his projected future (this year and beyond). I'm guessing he'll get AHL netminding time?

Yeah Ramo will be in the AHL this year. The Burke situation will hinder some of his playing time though. As Burke currently is a better goaltender and will have success in the AHL. If Holmqvist struggles as the backup, he could get a call up but I doubt it. Next year he could be the backup on the NHL squad if he has a good year in Springfield. Best case scenario is that by the time Denis' contract runs out, he'll be ready to take over the #1 job. Sorry no one answered your question right away, this thread must have gotten lost in the shuffle.

Hey No prob. Any information is good information at this point. So did he look like he will be better than Holmqvist? It seems like Finnish goaltenders are all the rage these days, and he had a pretty good year last year platooning with Riku (I think I read that right, maybe it was Rask or someone else).

It'll be interesting to see what happens in Springfield. I hope Burke's last hurrah doesn't end up hurting his progression but something tells me burke will be dealt during the season to a team with goalie injury issues. Just a hunch.

I didn't go to any TC sessions because I was not in Tampa for camp.. I saw Ramo at the rookie camp and he looked pretty good to me for a prospect. I've never seen Holmqvist play yet so I don't know who's better. Helenius is the one on the same team with Rask and right now Rask is getting the majority of playing time. Ramo was a tandem starter last year, but no on the same team as Rask.

Mihalik is now a Prince George Cougar?

That team, with the addition of Setoguchi, could be a force.

He was traded to Prince George over the summer. He just seperated his shoulder recently and will be out at least a few games.

Where is he?

I just looked on the roster for the Springfield Falcons of the AHL and I didn't see Radek Smolenak's name. Where is he? Please tell me... dekuji (thank you in Czech).

He's playing for the Johnstown Chiefs in the ECHL, another of the Lightning's affiliates.

Ramo played last year with Miika Wiikman who visited NYR farm team and would have signed with them, but he had legit contract without clause to leave to NA in Finland.

Helenius is 2nd goalie in Ilves this year with Rask being first.

edit: Oh sorry, it was already mentioned, anyway I did mention Wiikman who visited NYR's farm team.

Gerard Dicaire?

I know Dicaire became a free agent after the 05-06 season. Any word on where he ended up?

I haven't heard anything about him signing anywhere and his profile on Hockeydb.com doesn't list him playing anywhere this year.

Yep. I posted about that in the minor league thread. 2 games without a point is a bit disapointing.

Funny you post that Smolenak was called up by Springfield, he was just sent back down to Johnstown. Better move to get him more playing time. I thought he'd stick with the AHL team after a good showing in Johnstown, but it's clear it's better for his development to stay in Johnstown and play big minutes there.

Apparently, in an AHL game between the Springfield Falcons and the Norfolk Admirals, Karri Ramo got into a fight with Sebastien Caron. He had his *** handed to him and was given an instigator penalty; he was tossed out of the game and Sean Burke came in.

Good for Ramo.

Blair Jones got into a fight recently. Said he'd ask Mitch Fritz for advice.

Denis and Dmitri Kazionov

Saw these two listed on the Lightning prospects list but don't know much about them. Are they related and do they still figure in Tampa's plans?

It would seem Dmitri was a pretty big prospect a few years ago but hasn't had much success in Russia (and is 22 years old) while Denis is not yet nineteen.

Any info?

They are brothers.

Boltprospects.com which is the main source for Lightning prospects thinks both will come over within two years.
