russia red army jr team

Does anybody know who on the Russia Red Army Jr team to look out for, or who is considered a stud player?

They are playing at West Point in Dec and I might go to that game if I can get a glimps of anyone worth while.

College aged team not the u-16 kids

link to a roster maybe?

If it is - Kucherov, Gusin, Marchenko, Grigorenko, Prohorenkov, Barbashev, Torchenyuk, Plotnikov, Stepanov are the best players on the team and the 17year old goaly Oseledets has promise as well.

I have no other info then the name of the team listed on the schedual is: Russian Red Army Jr team.

Game is Dec 28/2010 vs NCAA D1 ARMY of West Point. (Exihbition game)

There is a team playing a tounament in the QMJHL recently, could be them.

Just wondering if anyone out there has info on the roster.

Kind of funny Army website lists them as Red Army Jr. while Ivy League lists them as Russia Tour team but anyway, its the MHL selects.

I dont believe they have released their roster since the tour is the same time as the World Juniors so they are waiting for Russia National.

I was under impression there will be Latvijan and Belorussian players as well. But you are right - no roster yet.

Im sure there will be, I just said Russian National because both Latvia and Belarus will announce roster soon and their World Juniors ends before the MHL Selects even leave for America.

If they do leave off some of the more than deserving HK Riga players I will be pretty disappointed.

here's the roster - many experienced 20-21 year old which figures - american teams will try to be physical, one guy from Latvia and one from Belorus' (will be funny to see them play in a jersey with Russian flag on it)

I figured HK Riga would get a few more players but happy to see we atleast got one of them and none better than Vilkoits. He is having an impressive start to the season so far.

Yes, the names please. I was wondering if Pashnin was on the team. I am a NY Rangers fan and he did fabulous in the Traverse City Tournament this summer but that is 600 miles from where I live. The rink the Red Stars will play at vs USMA ARMY on 12/28/2010 is only 10 minutes from my house and is a very quaint rink and if I could meet him for just a second I'd be thrilled, I hear he is a very likeable personality.

If you think D-man Mikhail Pashnin from CSKA, so no, he is not at roster due to he plays in KHL no MHL.

Jakovlev (Yakovlev) and Marčenko (Marchenko) seems to be good, according stats. I know that Kostromitin played in CHL...

There is a Russian junior team making the rounds that is supposed to play the Golden Horseshoe All Stars of the GOJHL on January 1st in Niagara Falls and then play the Mid-western Conference all-stars Jan 3rd in Stratford

Yes, I was thinking of Mikhail Pashnin. Bummer.

Oh well. I'll probably go anyway even though they will probably spank my team.

Any future NHLers to watch for?

Most of these players are 20-21 stars in the MHL who are trying to get into their KHL line-ups and for the majority of these players, will stay in KHL. However, some of them could turn into NHL players. Some players to look out for though...

-Alshevsky had a very impressive season last year recording 74pts (29+45) in 45 matches at just 19.

-Toluzakov at 21 put up 71pts (39+32) in 57 matches

-Tochitsky had 51 (12+39) in 58 matches last year and this year has 42pts (7+35) in only 26 matches.

-Konozov has 32pts (19+13) in 28 matches

-Vilkoits has 28pts (16+12) in 29 matches. He will never probably make the NHL but standing 192cm and 102kg, he can be extremely fun to watch when he throws his body around.

Im sure cska78 can add a bunch more on if some of these guys will make NHL and who to look out for. I would go to the match if you have the time, should be very entertaining.

Defenders
Mikhail Churlyaev (Stalnie Lisi) has put significant time forth in the VHL and played some in the KHL
Igor Ozhiganov (Red Army) - up'n'coming imho can make the KHL
Ildar Isangulov (Tolpar) - plays on various junior NT's a towering d-man
Sergei Tereschenko (Stalnie Lisi) - one of the key d-man on one of the best if not the best MHL teams
Dmitri Kostromitin (Chelyabinsk)
Konstantin Plaksin (Chelyabinsk) last year put a lot of time in the KHL
Anton Popov (Chemist)
Egor Yakovlev (Bars) MHL's leader in pts between d-men.
Aleksei Marchenko (Red Army) very promissing d-man - will be in the KHL, offensive minded needs work on D- 2nd in pts between d-men in the MHL

Forwards
Dmitri Potaychuk (Amur) - he plays for White Tigers (Orenburg) leads them in points
Yaroslav Alshevsky (Reaktor)
Raimonds Vilkoits (HK Riga)
Albert Zagidullin (Olympia) team's point leader
Alexander Streltsov (Auto) the two brothers are hoped to make the KHL team in the near future.
Vasily Streltsov (Auto)
Yaroslav Tulyakov (Russian Knights) team's point leader
Filipp Toluzakov (Spartak) played some games in the KHL already
Petr Khokhryakov (Reaktor) last year was a mainstay in KHL
Pavel Dedunov (Amur) same - last year KHL
Nikita Feoktistov (Minsk) team's point leader
Anton Lazarev (Mytischi) talented with some games in the KHL behind his belt.
Nikolai Kazakovtsev (Almaz) has 12 games in the KHL and 3rd in pts on his team
Dmitri Lugin (Amur) team's point leader
Evgeni Mons (Almaz) often plays in the KHL for Severstal'
Nikita Tochitsky (SKA-1946) - the majority of the pts are assists to Konozov - many think he's stats are overinflated, MHL's leader in pts
Albert Konozov (SKA-1946) - MHL's highest goal scorer
While this kids are not the most talented players MHL has they are some of the more experienced ones, I think the team will be competative - should win the majority of the games, I hope. If they play in boston or near-boston I will be there.

I think Puskin and Alessandro could give better eval, I only judge by stats and what I had seen from the subway and 4 nation tournaments, plus rare apperances in the KHL that I had cough on TV.
