I would think Antero would be out for 2-4months after the surgery and i say 2-4 as in maybe 2-3 he'll be ready, he'll need 1 month to get back in game shape and see if his hip is 100%. I had a friend that tore his labrum and he had to sit out of hockey for 6months before he was 100% ready and this guy was in outstanding shape prior to the injury.
I'm just afraid this is going to be one of those chronic injuries that never go away. I don't know much about Houle, but I don't think he's projected to be a NHL starter, and Reggie B isn't up to being an NHL guy yet. This sucks

Labarbera can be better than Cloutier & Garon when he's on his game. His game fell apart last season when his mother died from cancer. But he's back on his game and would be a cheap quality pickup.

Yup, Houle is the backup for now. Unless Clarke signs Trevor Kidd or someone like him...

Aw man, the injury to the hip, that ain't good for a goalie.

What they ever do don't rush him back, let it heal fully.

Idk if anyone heard but nitty thinks he'll be heading to surgery. The pain in his hip is worse than the last time, but the only thing good about it is that its on the opposite hip. We're really screwed!!

Esche will play better as a result - not just because of more action - because he's a whiny, selfish type who needs to feel like he's important - and now he is.

I completely disagree. Esche is at his best when he's pressured--when Hitchcock is pushing his buttons in the paper, when Frank is playing well--and with Frank out, he's not going to be challenged for the #1 spot.

6-8 weeks. Could be worse, folks.

"Torn Labrum" - this year's "Sports Hernia"... which was last year's "Lisfranc Injury"

Serious question...should I cancel the hockey package on the dish? Because I seriously can NOT go through another year like last year. I am really on the verge of tears right now. Obviously, I didn't see tonight's game, but just from reading the box score I can see that Esche put in another stellar performance and our PK continues to be amongst the best in the leage. I am absolutely sick to my stomach right now. I think it's time to clean house in the training staff department.

I am not going to pretend I know anything about this injury - because I don't - but anytime you get a significant lower body injury to a goalie, I unfortunately think we can throw those time estimates out.

Dudette for starters, and I'm not banking on 6-8 weeks at this moment. About 300 days ago I was waiting for Preems to come back 'in a week or so' so sorry, I'm not banking on any early estimates. Besides the fact that I can't help wondering how many games Esche can manage to give up a touchdown in during those 6 weeks.

well your reaction made it seem like the whole season is lost. id take nitty over esche anyday of the week, but this isnt really that huge of a deal. people act like nitty stood on his head last year and esche played without pads on, which just isnt the case.

Remember when Philly was a concusion town? Now the in thing is hip injuries. Nitty 2x in a calander year, and I think rathje had a bum hip last season too.

I think this could put his jeaprady. I don't actualy know how to spell that word. Two surgicaly repaired hips. What's with Nordic goalies and Philly?
