I think it's safe to say that if there ever was any dispute about whether Mezei was in the top 5, it was answered last night
It's so annoying because if he could stay healthy I really believe he could end up being our #2 or 3 dman, better than Salei and Allen, plus he has a bullet of a shot if he can figure out how to use it.

i like mezei-jackman as the 3rd pairing. good combo. jackman offensive, mezei defensive. that would give all 3 pairings an o and d defenseman!!!!

How many points do you expect Stumpel to get?

Olesz on a second line and Horton on a third? Really? I tought Olesz will be left with Stumpel on a third line.

It's a question of being deep at forward, a nice change for the Panthers, and this allows Horton to develop a little more slowly which will be good for him. He needs to learn how to play a consistent game night in and night out.

Roberts on the top line? He wont be there very long. I'd still rather see Weiss and Horton on the second line, but then apparently we are kinda rolling 3 lines out. Horton will be on the top line before this season is done!

Guys, these are the lines that Martin is putting out there. This isn't my personal opinionated lines, dream lines, etc.

If you disagree and/or have suggestions, take it up with Jacques.

Pelts will be out a few weeks with a separated shoulder. Before the injury, I believe Martin had him slated for left-wing on the 2nd line.

Making Campbell the odd man out (reserve forward) as Olesz and Gelinas would be moving down after Peltonen is inserted on the 2nd line.

I thought they signed Peltonen to play with Jokinen on the top line?

Peltonen has many uses, such as on the PK and if he can play with Jokinen then so be it. However, Martin planned to start the season with last year's top line chemistry of Roberts-Jokinen-Stumpel. That line is not really set in stone, especially since Roberts will get injured at some point. I'm sure when Peltonen is healthy he'll get a chance to play with Jokinen and the lines will be moved around a few times.

They signed Peltonen because Olli sang his praises and talked management into it. They have some chemistry, but I'm sure Olli knew there were no guarantees about being constant linemates or even Peltonen making the team.

You think Stumpel will stick on the first line all year? Did he last year? How many points do you expect from him?

Yeah, he'll probably stick on the first line because he's nasty with Olli. Expect around 60 points from Stumpel IMO if he stays healthy. Probably 15 goals, 45 assists or something like that.

No, he doesn't like Peltonen. He's suggesting that after he comes back from the injury, he might stick around for 1 or 2 games before he's injured/killed/plays too poorly/eaten by an alligator/anything that could possibly cause him to miss games.

Yeah, don't listen to MOGO; he has no clue. Peltonen will be back in no time, playing like a beast, and the OJ/Pelts combo is going to kick some serious butt.

ROSTER MOVES (From Sun-Sentinel)

The final cut of training camp was made with goalie Craig Anderson assigned to Rochester of the AHL. Also, left winger Ville Peltonen was placed on injured reserve, leaving the Panthers with 22 active players -- one fewer than the maximum allotted.

He should miss a few weeks, I think the max expected to miss was 20 games, the reason why Campbell actually made the roster.
