I don't mind the trade. We have Plekanec, Johnson, Higgins who can all play the #2center position. Kostitsyn imo is ready for the nhl and we got extra depth on defense for this year.

Fan of Ribeiro's leaving, but definately not a fan of this deal and has nothing to do with who plays center.

Don't believe in Niniimaa at all and. I didn't want to have Poti.....I believe we actually got worst......

Next year, we will have 4 UFA d-men to take care of.....

to be a difference maker , he is soft , one dimensional, weak 2 way center , we have to stop praising this guy , he IS WAY OVER RATED.
how about Ninnimaa, is he good ? NO, he's pure CRAP now !

I was a huge niinimaa supporter on the island, but guys he is atrocious. YOu will never see as many dumb penalties as this guy takes. Good luck. At least 2 janne gifts a game for the opposing team.

I think he meant T.O for Terrel Owens great football player but he get himself in trouble a lot, very bad attiude. His coach call him the player because he doesn't deserve to be call by his name

If it's T.O., it fits him even more.

They'll be able to test pills together.

I can't see Bob G trading ribs without a backup in mind for center...
Exactly what I'm thinking, we finished last season with Markov, rivet, sourray, komi, dandy, streit, why couldn't we start that way until bouillon comes back and when he will be back ninimaa and his 2.5M contract will be in the stands? or mayby Dandy and his 1.8M? I really think there's an other deal comin, perez + FA def for a center. Cause right now we're almost at max with tender's salary + ninimaa's

Perezhogin – Johnson – Latendresse
Bégin – Plekanec - Murray

Markov – Rivet
Souray – Komisarek
Streit – Dandenault

Sorry, but you have not seen Plekanec play. Worst-case scenario, he's a good 3rd liner. He's still young and will definitely be given the chance to make the 2nd line this year.

He said he would now hang out with TO... as in Terrell Owens who also plays in Dallas.

Not Theo.

Although for a second there I thought I had heard what you did.

I'm disappointed with the return on this trade. It weakens the Habs in the short term, but I feel in the long run it makes Montreal a better team. I never felt that Montreal could go deep into the playoffs with Mike Ribeiro as their #2 centre. He was just unwilling or unable to be effective in the playoffs. He's not nearly as bad as some make him out to be, but I feel he would have always been a liability in the post season.

Worst trade so far by Gainey. We get another soft european, makes 2.5 mls a year, overpaid, his best years are behind him and also he has played for about five different teams usually an indication of bad in the room or personal problems Ribeiro is a local boy, so what the f-----k is good with this trade

How would Ribs know T.O? I'm assuming it was a joke?

As for the actual trade, I feel as though Bob is working on something. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I think Aebi and Souray could be next
