Big announcement tomorrow?

Anyone else hear about a potential news conference announcing a very important business deal? I am thinking it is going to be about a new name for the Coliseum.

That's a good guess. I can't hink of anything else that it could possibly be, and I was wondering when the Coliseum would get a new name.

The Oilers have a new member in the ownership group.

He wants to inject an extra 15 million into the yearly team salary.........and he hates Comrie.

DAMN.....my joint went out while I was typing.

If it is a re-naming of Skyreach, how about....

...The Quaker Oates Centre?

It makes sense by commemorating the biggest UFA signing in recent team memory, and just think of how the building "quakes" with noise during playoff games!

The Comrie-sseum? The sign would have to be pretty low for him to see it, though. They could put the real sign higher up for the rest of us. I've heard Rexall.

Or how about the Brick House?

They could play the Commodores' greatest hits during stoppages in play!

Some people here in Edmonton are saying it might be Rexall that takes over the naming rights.

Sorry if I sound like an idiot... but what is Rexall anyway? Don't think I've heard that name before.

Rexall is what Brian Hall thinks it will be, but I don't trust that guy as far as I can spit.

That's right boys and girls, Mike Comrie is getting traded to the Nashville Predator along with another mediocre Edmonton Player for David Legwand and Tomas Vokoun

[ crossing my fingers ] here's hoping

Yeah, pretty much. It's more or less like a London Drugs but on a smaller scale. Usually the small towns have a Rexall for their main drugstore.

Do you know when this announcement is supposed to take place? It's probably just about the naming rights to the Oilers rink, but expect the unexpected, as Kevin Lowe likes to say! It would be awesome if a Comrie trade was announced soon.

I don't know anything, just rumors I am hearing. I doubt it is a trade. We would be hearing other rumors about that as well, and we aren't...well at least nothing different from what we are getting used to.

I forget where, but - although I have herd Rexall more then anything - I have also herd Epcor and Telus mentioned. I'd like the sound of Epcore Center

I sure hope it's not Telus, they already had Telus Field. Telus makes tons of people mad every day, I would hate to see them get the naming rights.

Heard on the radio earlier today, and mentioned in the Staios thread: "Even heard Brian Hall this morning saying it's likely they'll announce the new name for the Coliseum this week, with Rexall having a good chance of being the title sponsor."

I just hope it isn't 'centre'. That name annoys me. It's a Coliseum, call it a Coliseum.

I agree, I wish they could just call it The Edmonton Coliseum. But Rexall Coliseum is definitely better then Rexall Centre or Rexall Place.
