Yes he did.. he looked good on the powerplay however where he teamed up with Dvorak/Hemsky. I actually don't mind Smyth and Moreau together, I just think he'd benefit from having a more offensive role on the team.. we have a lot of guys suited for that 3rd line checking role (Reasoner, Pisani, Moreau, Stoll, Rita?) but not a lot of guys that can notch 30+ goals. I've got a feeling he'll be up with Oates when he makes his debue.. anyone hear anything about when he's going to be ready? I've heard rumblings of the Detroit game on the 26th but I thought I heard on the TSN broadcast today that he might not be ready for up to 3 weeks..
Oates said 1 week, maybe 2 weeks. shouldn't be longer then that, he practiced with the team today (Thursday), reports say he'll be ready for the game against Detroit on the 26th....i'm guessing he'll play the game after that. either way, it shouldn't be 3 weeks, that'll be way too long.
Good game last night. mHard to criticize after a win but I've never seen a team like the Oilers have so much trouble clear the damn puck. Brew played a good game I thought, but when he's killing a penalty, it looks like he switch to a stick with those plastic white blades. Same goes with Smith. Or Brew against Chicago: he's got alot of space to shoot, where does he put it? On Stoll's ass. I didn't know Stoll was one of the fat twins on the mopeds.
Anyways, it's always a great game when we beat the Leafs. Again, Conklin was great. He's making the difficult saves at key times, which is huge.
Ya know who I like for the Leafs, Stajan. He's a pretty player. For some reason, I think the Leafs will do somthing stupid and trade him away for an overpriced has-been.
