According to Fay, GMGM was at yesterday's Hershey game:
Quote:
McPhee said he had no plans to bring any players up (it would require a roster move because the team is at maximum of 23 players) but wanted to see who was playing well for Hershey.

"I'd like to watch them at least a few times and see if anyone is capable" of coming up and helping the Caps, McPhee said. "It's one thing to get [daily written] reports and hear about how people are playing, but I'd rather watch them in person and make my own decision."
...
Those who stand a better chance [of being called up] include Jamie Hunt, 22, who is plus-3 defensively and has five points. Jeff Schultz, 20, is 6-foot-6 and 224 pounds, but the Caps would like to give him a full season at the AHL level, and there's Timo Helbing, 25, who's 6-foot-3, 217 pounds and a native of Switzerland.
I've heard fans say that Helbing would be the next D-man called up, if necessary, over Erskine.

Ovie makes a splash

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/

Quote:
So Brashear, the designated enforcer, followed the two fleet Russians he's sworn to protect, and the three of them rushed over to Caps PR guy Corey Masse--dressed, as always, in a suit--and they scooped up Masse and dragged him into the shower room and dumped him into the cold tub, as most of the other players, laughing, sprinted in to watch. A few minutes later, Masse emerged soaking wet, telling a cackling Ovechkin "it's not over, it's not over."

Gotta love Mcphee:

"One!” said McPhee, who laughed heartily and walked away.

I like Bradley's response:

One?” he said. “One, ever?” Then the magnitude of that reality began to set in.

“I’ve got more than Gordie Howe!”

You guys are too harsh on Fata. Say what you will about his putrid skill level but the guy gave it his all every shift. For that I always rooted for him and wish him well overseas.

For those interested, my pal pucksandbooks just posted his interview with Ron Weber on the blog (onfrozenblog.com).

Ron is still the man.

Man I miss Ron Weber. Steve's not bad but I was furious when I found that Weber wouldnt be back.

I remember always tuning into Ken Beatrice who led into Ron Webers broadcasts.

I know that the older timers on 980 lampoon Beatrice but I enjoyed listening to him.

The godfather of sportstalk radio! BLASPHEMY!

He shot straight and ripped on the team and was right on.

"Pierre Turgeon would not be on any team of mine"

"If you like Wynn, then you'll like Daniels" (on an appearance with sports reporters a bit ago when the Skinz first signed Daniels)

"Gartner is a hard worker but he's not a pure scorer"

"what would the Caps gain by trading Stevens and Gartner to Calgary for Mullen and McInnis?"

"Murphy doesnt use his body enough for a big guy"

"Ridley's 40 goal season is an abberation. He's a 20-30 goal scorer."

many many more that I cant think of right now

Maybe we'll FINALLY see some fisticuffs.

I'm brain-farting whoever took a knee to AO in the last game. Maybe Erskine will take care of him, since the Donald obviously won't?

Yeah Brash seems to have softened.

It was Gleason with the hit but I doubt he'd want any part of Erskine.

Thank you! I knew his name, but couldn't remember.
Someone needs to hurt him.

I want Morrisonn to get a gordie howe hatter, with the fight against Gleason. Simply because I like making predictions that will never come true.

I'm interested to see how poor of a skater Erskine truly is to have Muir overtake him.

You know Muir is second on the team in +/-, right?
