Putting kovy on the ice in the last minute in the game,,Why ????
He and his line were a non-factor in the game.
Gotta go watch the overtime...shouldn't have toooo
The real mistake is Rivet not slamming the guy into the boards and forgetting about the puck for a second. The puck would have been his very easily after that hit. No OT. No Loss.

You're right. But that's one of the best regular season games I've ever seen. We're actually a good team, even with our shaky D!
And I like the way this team plays. We don't lay down in the pasture waiting for the kill like a Julien team....we keep going....Buffalo got the bounce (and Souray sucked)...but otherwise they know we beat them tonight....that's what counts...can't wait to see them again....

carbo tried to replace higgins with kovalev but the ref didn't allow it. I guess carbo was too late but this all happened during the timeout.
Anyways, I agree, I would have been more comfortable with higgins out there for the last minute
The ref forced Kovy to stay on the ice after the time out....I thought that was stupid. Habs take a time out...time out is over...Carbo sends Higgins to replace Kovalev but the ref stops it....weird.

thats a good point too. I'm not sure what rivet was thinking there
I thought the exact same thing about the Kovalev thing at the end of the game but I guess someone cleared that issue up.
As for those who are saying the Kovalev line was a non-factor in the game are being extremely harsh IMO. In the first couple of periods they were putting together the nicest plays on the ice. The chemistry between the 3 of them is really working out a lot better than what it looked like with Ribs centering the line. It's not their fault Koivu's line took all the spotlight tonight because I really think the top two lines were solid as hell.
I know!
Did I miss something here, Kovalev scored on his shot???? Ryder was one of the best Habs tonite, along withKoivu and Higgins. Kovalev performed one of his disappearing acts again. When is Ryder going to get some respect from this board.
Carbo's never-do list:
Slotting Ryder into shootout line-up
Slotting Ryder into shootout line-up
Slotting Ryder into shootout line-up

Who cares about who's shooting in the shootouts......If Rivet and Souray don't play together or too many minutes, we'll never go in shootouts. Rivet and Souray should've never be in the last minute of play. I would've played Traverse instead tonight....That's his real bad decision. And he shouldn't have used Pleks on the defensive zone faceoff....

It didn;t matter anyways because mtl cleared the puck and they could have put higgins on after .
Well, I found it quite odd that Carbo did not seem interested in what was going on during the Briere incident. On one side you have Ruff yealling like a madman, on the other calm Carbo not seeming to mind what was happening. He confirmed this during the post game press conference. He doesn't know what happened.
