Well I knew something was wrong the moment I thought to myself "damn Hossa is playing hard and doing good tonight.". Next shift a penalty and Gagne scores... I'm not blaming it on the officiating but it is pretty poor, I saw a few plays that were questionable and wondered why the Flyers hadn't got called on them. Need some Discipline in the 3rd and we're still in it. 5 on 5 the Rangers are the better team on the ice, even without Capt. Hook they still get too many stupid penalties...
I blame it on the penalties because the flyers got momentum from two consecutive power plays, one of which they scored on.
it hurts your team when your best players can't get on the ice for over 4 minutes and the other teams best players get to work freely
But I still dont think that the last goal to make it 4-3 was because of momentum. It was because of the Rangers D not being agressive and failing to clear the puck out of hte zone. Gagne wasnt " pumped " on that shot, he just ate up a poor giveaway.
And give the Rangers PK benefit of the doubt they are 13/15 on the PK I mean 86% is a good percentage, problem is eventually odds catch up.
Good point by you.
I think a large part of the problem isn't just team discipline, but consistency league-wide from the officiating.
Now, a lot of these penalties tonight have been penalties, but when you flip from one game to another on any given night you're going to see varying degrees of penalty calling. I just watched Crosby **** Datsyuk all the way back into the Penguins zone without any call; if that's our two guys the second he touches him the ref's hand is raised.
The league needs to do a better job in getting all of the refs on the same page.
I will say this though, they have been consistent within each game. The players knew or should have known right from the opening 2 minutes that the refs were calling things tight tonight - shame on them for not learning.
Throw me a bone. $5 says your still watching the game.
You can send the $5 bucks via paypal. After I'm through here, I'm going upstairs to help give my new baby girl (2 months wednesday) a bath and then the wife and are settling in for a Friday the 13th movie marathon.
Ha ha, I'm starting to feel the same way. I think I'll watch the Mets try to win this game to eliminate LA.
Hehehe...not a very entertaining game. It's one thing if both teams are going all out, going shot for shot. That's exciting. I just can't stomach their play tonight. Too early in the season to bother. Rather not waste the Saturday.
