What are we missing now in mtl?

i.m.o. all we need is a true fighter and we have almost everything we could ask for in montreal for pure entertainement...

I know downey is supposed to be the goto fighter, but I will keep hoping for a true fighter until he starts dropping the gloves AND throwing some punches..

I remember komisarek had an awesome fight or two last year standing up for huet but we can't afford to lose him to penalties and as much as I love begin and murray, the just can't hold their weight against the heavies

So my wish : Downey starts fighting or we get a true heavy weight

but im still very happy with the team we have right now either way

we don't really need a fighter.

Carolina and Edmonton were in the finals last season... neither of them had fighters. One could argue Laraque was one... but he never played in the playoffs.

A star defensemen that can play up to 28mins a game , and a foward a la Scheafer or Neil.

In an ideal world of course , and that's if Pleks can handle the 2nd line role.

I'd like a center.

A center like, say, Fisher.

Anyone that has some speed, good fundamentals, capable of putting up 40 odd points, with some intensity.

I liked Bonk with Begin and Latendresse on the fourth line. That's a real fourth line with a little bit of everything, capable of playing a regular shift. Right now, the fourth line is proving itself incapable of playing a regular shift.

Then this center could either play between Kovalev and Samsonov, moving Plekanec back to a place where he seemed more comfortable, with two players he had developed chemistry with.

But that's just me.

I personally am satisfied with the defense as is, but a case could be made for wanting one puck-moving, mobile defenseman. Who you'd take out of the equation for this defenseman, I have no idea. I think every defenseman on the roster right now adds something unique to the core.

Like most teams in the NHL, we need a big No. 1 Center, then we'd be set.

One great puck moving D + one shutdown D.
I think look really good up front. We just need a better and quicker transition game and that start with the D. I thought we would be ok....but now I'm convinced our
D is an ancer that slows us down.

That not a word.
And I dont know.. Grabovski seems to have the same kind of play as Samsonov & Kovy.. we need a pure goal scorer down centre.

I think we need a #1 dman to play with Markov. Souray and Rivet are ok 2nd line pairing dman, but not 1st.

A young superstar Center/Defenseman, Montreal need a franchise player.

Briere
Bergeron
Crosby

Pitkanen
Phaneuf
Johnson

I know he wasn't good since the begining of the season, but i am still confident that he will be a good adition to the team. He will put up 25 + goals, wich is better than Bulis or Zednik.

The thing is, Samsonov doesn't fit a need. Plus, he's not a very good player. He's just an overpaid second liner.

In any case, I'd rather have Bulis at 1.3M than Samsonov at 3.525M.
