A solid pickup. Can Malhotra play on the wing?

Very nice pick up. I guess I'm glad that most our games with them are out of the way.

he can...but i think the BJ's would be smart to play him as a center, and groom him to be a shutdown center. after this deal, a guy like tyler wright or espen knutsen could be on the way out soon. wright could fetch a decent return, but i think knutsen is waiver fodder now.

Yes.. both wings actually.

He's a guy with a lot of potential, but make sure he plays 10 minutes a night, *at least* or he will struggle to perform consistently and will continute to be a dissapointment. He showed some flashes in Dallas that he can definitely be a future 3rd line shutdown center. I have high hopes for him.

good for manny...after playing for 2 of the most veteran oriented teams, he should get a real chance to fit in amongst other young players in columbus

Dopey...

He's talking about teams picking on waivers, not teams that had him.
Two teams who had higher priority than Columbus passed on him.

When Weimer went up on waivers, it was more or less common knowledge what teams had placed claims for him. Some 'sources' claim that Ottawa, New York Rangers, San Jose, Dallas, Atlanta and Calgary all placed a waiver claim (as well as Minnesota, the eventual 'winners').

Is there any indiation which and how many teams were chassing Manny?

Still amazing to me that Army could not get a 5/6 rounder for the guy.

First, let me tell you you should tone down your aggressiveness. I've done nothing to angry you so I don't see why you would answer that rudely.
Second, you're wrong, I was talking about the teams that passed on him during the waiver wire.

So your agressiveness only stresses your stupidity.

malhotra never came close to the player he was suposto be when drafted by the Rangers. I think some people may have had much higher expectations on Manny then his abilities would be able to produce. I think Columbus got a good player though and maybe the change of scenery will prove positive for Manny.

hasn't San jose been behind Minnesota all year (as well as last year: I can't remember when it flips over from using last years standings to this years standings on waiver claims)....same for Calgary actually?

I don' t understand how Minnesota could have trumped either team, suggesting to me that they didn't put in Claims.

I'd be pretty certain Calgary wouldn't have claimed Wiemer...they have tried to get rid of salary to get Berard and now Ronning, both players we need more than Wiemer right now, so I'm not sure how we would have handled his contract??

Its based on this years standing so far. I'm not sure how its calculated exactly though.
