what surprises me is the number of hypocrites on this site...

first we have some posters who say that we should start Huet becuase of what he did for us the second half of last season, and then other posters respond by saying that that holds no merit because last season was last season and this is a new season and u have to play the hot goalie.

Then we have the same posters who are on the "last season was last season" side saying that we should start Abby because of the success he had against Ottawa during the last part of last season! Now what happened to "last season was last season"???

I dont get it...

he stayed in net and tryed to suck it up . i got no problem with that .
Have you ever gotten a cramp while playing a sport?
I was a goalie, and ive had cramps on several occasions. It's impossible to move. I had a cramp in my leg once, I cud barely walk, let alone move around the crease. Once i had one for 3 days straight, as much as i strecthed or massaged it, it wouldnt go away. Trust me, im a master of cramps, i get them all the time... ********* painful i tell you.

What was the other option?

Abesicher. A cold goalie who has been sitting on his azz for the past 2 hours is just as likely to be injured in a shootout as one who has a bit of a cramp in his leg. A cramp isn't a tear or injury of any kind. It's just soreness. Yeah lets take a guy who has been sitting for 2-3 hours, give him no warm up whatsoever, and watch him do the splits trying to stop a breakaway. Great idea.

I wonder if Jarvis would say anything to the wuss who takes half the game off for cramps?

I would rather have a guy at 75% in the nets in a close game then put a cold goalie in there. Abby wouldn't even have gotten a warm up if had he gone in.

You could easily tell, there was something wrong with him in the shootout.

He was cramping in the 3rd period, Aebischer cud have warmed up.

But im not saying Huet should have been pulled, im not arguing that, I dont find it smart for him staying in, but i understand why he did it. He's a warrior i would have done the same most probably.

Giguere stopped 41 of 44 shots he faced to pick up the win over the Kings on Friday. Giguere overcame cramps to hang in for the win .

Yeah, so he's not a retard, case closed. Lol.

I just saw two females making out on Star Trek. I hate Star Trek but I was flicking and I had to go back. Girls making out is cool.

I've had cramps before, I went to the washroom and got rid of them, flushed them away. Oh, not those kind of cramps?

Wo Jaydee, someone called him that, I'm just trying to follow a topic by quoting you. You don't seem to like me today.

But In all seriousness...A professional athlete should be fine tuned, and shouldn't get these cramps. I can understand an amateur getting cramps...but their's no reason that these guys should get them. If they trained themselves hard enough...they wouldn't (or shouldn't).

I'm almost positive Giguere battled through cramp problems often last season. You'd think they would be finely tuned machines, but I guess it happens.

Nothing that a ton of cardio shouldn't fix imo.

Doesn't Giguere have dehydration problems, or am I think of someone else?

Of course we owe him something, gratitude for saving our a$$ last year.

Don't start *****ing about his salary,

#1, he earned the owners more than 3million dollar by single handidly bringing us to the playoffs, 3home games >= Huet's salary for an entire year.

#2, Owner pay players so player can make the owners money by winning, it's a 2 way street. You'd run naked for 3million? Who cares, no one will pay you because you're not worth it, you can not win hockey games and make money for the organization. The GM gave Huet 3million so he would stay with our team and not sign with someone else. You act like he should be grateful for the raise, if we didn't pay him someone else would have, we should be equally grateful that he signed with us.

BTW: Tune into Team990 in about 10 minutes, 3:45 mtl time, to hear guy confirm Huet for tomorrow night. Good to see some people know the difference between the right and wrong thing, like our Head Coach.
