Good to get the sweep and pump in 10 on the weekend. Congrats to Lasch on breaking the 150 point mark, just the 4th Husky to do so. And big congrats to Mike Lee, bring home the gold baby!

It's a win, but an ick win. Sounds like they got an ass chewing after it. Winning isn't enough, gotta play well too and I like that attitude.

Got the sweep, another sloppy game, man Tech's PK sucks.
Also apparently got a commitment from Cam Reid who I thought was going to New Hampshire, can't find anything other than the St. cloud Times article to confirm it's true. Anyone know anything?

Workman like win, not pretty but the D played very well, made Dunn's job easy tonight.
8-1-1 in our last 10.

Bad 3rd period, thankfully we had a 3 goal lead and Mike Lee. Time to go rodent hunting.

Run had to end at some point. Way too many turnovers this weekend and it seems that when we turned it over, it was in the net. And bite me Klozowski.

More controversy ensued in the last 90 seconds when an apparent Huskies’ tying goal was waived off by Klozowski, and the call stood after review. Apparently, the call was the referees had lost sight of the puck and the play waived dead. A visibly angry Motzko crossed the ice after the game to give Klozowski a piece of his mind, and he was held back by the rest of the officiating crew.

“We scored a goal,” said Motzko. “Everybody in the rink knows we scored a goal. There’s nothing else to say.”

Testwuide got an empty-net goal with 10.7 seconds left to seal the win. The Huskies were assessed a team unsportsmanlike conduct and game misconduct at the end of the game for Motzko’s questioning.

Was that Randy Schmidt's first game back as a WCHA official? SC got screwed last night.

The Huskies are on quite a tear. Should be a great series with Bucky a few weeks down the road if both teams keep their momentum up.

The other official was Adam. I just don't see how with 4 guys (2 refs) out there all it takes is one not seeing the puck for it to be blown dead, and not even actually blown dead, just intended to be blown dead. There should be a signal or something that one ref has lost it so if the other does, blow it. Although we did benefit from a call like that against UND, it's still ridiculous that something like that can so radically change a game and isn't reviewable.

Ryan Lasch has 161 career points — 18 shy of Jeff Saterdalen's school record. Lasch has scored at virtually a point-per-game pace this season. At that rate, he wouldn't quite catch Saterdalen, even if the Huskies made it all the way the national championship. However, he has 13 points in 10 games so far in the second half. At that rate, he'd be in position to break the record at an NCAA Regional.

3rd stright bad start by Dunn and this time it cost us a point. If Lee steps up tomorrow, Dunn may see the rotation he's in come to an end.

And step up Lee did, so did Lasch finishing off a 6 point weekend in a 6-0 win. Lee had 33 saves.

“I haven’t watched a whole lot on St. Cloud, to be honest with you,” UND coach Dave Hakstol said. “I know their personnel well enough. They’ve got a couple of high-end guys up front but they’ve got a bunch of good, offensively skilled players and, obviously, they’re finding good chemistry and finding ways to win a lot of games, especially over the last two months.”

"We know we're going to get North Dakota's best," Huskies coach Bob Motzko said. "They're in a spot they're not used to and that's a prideful program. They're well-coached and a good hockey team. We're going to have our hands full. They play with the pedal to the floor. Their goal is to push you through the back wall. We try to play the same way. You're going to get knocked over when you play them. It's how you get up and go from there that's important."

"We're looking for our playoff roster," Motzko said. "It's time for people to lock down their spots. There are a couple of defensemen who have to do that right now, but there might not be many changes anymore, either."

“We’re going to go in and be confident in our specialty teams,” Hakstol said. “We’re a team that doesn’t want to spend the whole night killing penalties and playing on the power play, but we’re going to have to do a good job in both areas — especially going on the road against a team that does have a good power play. But, having said that, we’re going to play our game. We’re going to be extremely hard on their players and play extremely hard against their hockey team ... that’s the game plan.

“We need points,” Hakstol added. “Our goals remain the same. The bottom line is get playing well, get on a roll, get healthy and put ourselves in as good of a position as we possibly can from this point forward — both in our league and, most importantly, in the national picture. And then let’s take a run at it ... At this point and time, there’s no panic level in our locker room. It’s a matter of believing in what we’re doing and doing everything a little bit better, executing a little bit better.”

Perhaps the last word before the series should come from an unbiased source: UAA coach Dave Shyiak.

"St. Cloud's playing for a championship," he said last week. "More than any other year I've seen them, they've got a good balance of skill and toughness. They're more dangerous than they've been before. The question mark they had was in goal, and it looks like that's been answered."
