He's playing on a line with Kovalchuk. IMO it's like Trent Klatt scoring 20+ goals playing on the Lindros line.

It's also just 4 games. Let's see how many goals he has after 40 games. I'd be willing to bet it's around 10. I can't see Hartley keeping Sim on the first line all season.

Awesome? He has 37 goals in 234 NHL games. I'd hardly call that awesome.

insult to Trent Klatt... he was at least a legit NHL player. just filling in the grinding role on that line...

I'd say Mike Maneluik on the Lindros line is more accurate

He's on pace for 41 goals, 0 assists, +41

A little selfish, but a better season than Nedved, I betcha.

RE: Mike Maneluk

Mike Maneluk now that is a name of the past to remember and a good analogy.
He was liken to Sim in that he had a great preseason with Lindros feeding him the puck, but it didnt translate in the regular season even though he was given first line minutes and opportunity.
Sim however was not given that opportunity and Hitchcock swaped his lines around to fast and to often and he was the victim of timing and law of avgs, meaning he was bound for evening out his tremendous preseason with a slump. Suddenly his hot hand came back in Florida, go figure. Maneluk was a fluke but Sim can play NHL hockey especially if used properly.
You dont ask a small guy to dump and chase.

Sim still sucks. He and Rucchin can't get the puck to Kovalchuk and he can't burry the opertunities that he gets. If a decent winger were on that line instead of Sim, they would have twice as many goals and many more assists.

I miss him as well. He was a high energy guy like Eager but could put up a lot more points. His small little body crashing and banging, giving big guys face washes and chipping tenders masks. This team lacks energy and that type of player.

Actually it's the Flyers coaching that sucks, most former Flyers are leading players on other teams now...

I agree, he missuses players and can't combine the proper lines for maximum performance. His style of play doesn't work with the new NHL but also his training and prep is not working.

My lines:
Gagne, Forsberg, Knubble
Umberger, Carter, Dimitrakos
Calder, Richards, Nedved
Sanderson, Robitaille, Kapanen (speed line perfect for a fourth line energy line)

With Sanderson getting more time on powerplay and replacing Umberger on the second line a few shifts.

defense:
Pitkanen and Jonson (when back)
Hatcher , Meyer
Gauthier, Baumgartner or Picard

What I'd love to see

Gagne Forsberg Ruzicka
Umberger Carter Knuble
Calder Richards Sanderson
Eager Nedved Robitaile

defence, whatever

I put Rosie there, because I feel that while Knuble gets the points on the line, it needs someone more dynamic for 5 on 5 play. Knuble swaps places with Rosie on the PP.
ANd I think Sammie K is done. He can't cut it anymore. Hence Eager

Sim just scored again. That makes five for the season.
