Ward: Reminds me of his namesake in the fact that he doesn't seem like he's going to perform anything spectacular however he isn't going to be a liability on the ice as well. He adds a nice amount of depth to our team and I think will play a big role in how the team does. His goal last night however was pretty. Also from what I've seen the guy seems extremely good in front of the camera, is very well spoken, seems like a down to earth guy and fits in with this organization. Class act (so far -small disclaimer)
Cullen: Wow, I can't for the life of me figure out why the Canes would let this guy go. Sure he hasn't racked up an insane amount of points or anything but this guy busts his hump every shift. His speed is very impressive and maybe it's just me but the way he skates (movement/posture ect) really reminds me of how Bure skated....now if only we could get him Bure's knack for scoring!
Overall I'm plenty happy with both of these guys and have to commend Sather/Maloney and co for adding these two!
That was funny. My guess is that he just would rather have it that way. In Carolina there were two Wards also, obviously one was a goalie, but he never had the A. then. It's probably just personal preference.
Any body catch that hit he threw late in the game against NJ? I was hoping they would replay the hit, but they never did. Don't know who it was on, but it was a real hard check, and the other player went down.
Aaron Ward seems to have taken over Kasparaitis role as the physical, vocal defensemen on our team, and is doing a good job with helping Tyutin.
Matt Cullen has been solid as our second line center, playing the point on the powerplay a few times, and killing some penaltys here and there. Both players are solid and have played pritty well so far this year. Good job by Slats and Maloney on getting these two.
