Expect that Sather's gonna sign Linseman and trade Lundmark.
lol. Kurri made some beauty passes, the goalies looked good, and Simpson made a stunning pass for the winner. Give the Habs credit, they're ten years older in some cases and Carbonneau looks like he could still play.
Fuhr and Ranford stole the show.
Seeing that netcam shot of Fuhr making the glove save in front of a late afternoon sky was just amazing.
Seeing Gretz with that side pass to Kurri on the rush..........goddamnnn
I couldnt believe how much Montreal outshot us..... just like the old days.... everyone is thinking offense while the goalies are left to fend for themselves.
(was that a blocked shot I saw at the beginning by Coffey?)
Wow Montreal really handed it to us. Fuhr and Ranford stole the show with some of those saves. First time I ever saw a Fuhr save that wasn't a replay from a decade ago. Great to see. Ranford still has some game left in him too. He was sliding and kicking all over the place.
Bobby Smith and Carbonneau and some of those other Habs impressed. They looked pretty good, but I hear they've been playing a lot of games around cities for charity, etc. I heard Stephane Richer was also trying to catch onto a team this year, but no team in the NHL signed him.
Anyways, I don't know what all of you were expecting, and I anticipate some people whining how it was boring and over hyped, but what do you expect. These guys aren't 20 anymore. Anyways, it was still great to see Gretz, and the rest of them in an Oil jersey playing for one last time.
Now it's the real 2 point game coming up. I'm excited to see how the tempo is going to be.
Very chilling watching the old Oilers tonight, but kinda sad seeing guys like Kurri who looked like he could use a walking chair jsut to stand on his skates. And you can tell Wayne is still heads and above better than everyone else still, he didn't put in a full effort tonight. This guy could still play in the NHL IMO.
