You just found out about this now?

It's not really a big deal at all...

Btw, Zherdev is playing with CSKA-2 right now also(unless he got called up which i don't remember hearing)

It's difficult an 18 year old to get consistant icetime on an RSL team. The 4th line is where many young guys end up because the veterans usually take up the top 3 lines. And CSKA Moscow has alot of pretty talented veterans in their lineup.

The best thing for him right now is to play great hockey for CSKA-2. Unless you rather him getting 4th line icetime, which isn't good for any players development.

There are many variables. the RSL is a league that isn't concerned with developing their prospects, cause they know they will most likely lose them to the NHL. It's a win now league, that's filled with mostly veteran players. What's the difference if he's on CSKA playing on the 4th line, or with CSKA-2 scoring around a goal a game?

Don't put too much thought into it.

Please remember that CSKA is one of Russia's army's clubs. (I don't know if there are others but I assume that there are), hence why it's called "Red Army" over here. (I didn't do any researches but it makes sense, doesn't it? tell me if I'm wrong!) They're not really interrested in developing anyone, they're mostly interested in keeping people with them and forbidding them to come over.. at least that's what history has shown.
