apparently you.

That said, I think the D needs to be overhauled before we even think about moving Esche. It's more of a priority.

Marty Biron would be cheaper

but isn't Ninni the starter in Philly and esche the backup?

Regier won't trade Biron to Philly and probably not to any team is the East.
That's just his philosophy.

Bryzgalov would come at a hefty price I would imagine...and Im not sure Burke would want Esche in return. If he didnt, the only way a deal between these teams work is if a third party is involved. All in all there isnt much here.

It'll never happen. Why would they trade away their goalies when they have 2 solid goaltenders who are both decent?

If you are talking about the Ducks it would be Burke selling high. Giguere is still the better goalie at this moment, but Bryzgalov has a higher value because of his age and contract. Esche would not be a bad backup but I dont know if Burke really wants to take the chance.

And why would we acquire someone good enough to be a starter when we already have a good starter in Nitty? What we need is a goalie who is content being a back-up and can just do his job without *****ing.

Given that the Ducks new colors are black and orange, I don't think so.

Niittymaki is fine as the starter and Esche may be ok as a backup. The 'D' needs speed plain and simple.

i disagree. our defense really isn't THAT slow. indeed, our defense flat out sucks and is horrible but it has more to do with hockey sense and playing smart then it does with moving your legs quicker. I'm talking about quickish guys like meyer throwing the puck in front of our own net, and our "slow" guys unable to coherently move the puck. It seems like we have no breakout scheme whatsoever, no one aside from forsberg and maybe carter is even confident with carrying the puck for more then a couple seconds, even gagne who we wasted over 5 million a season on who expects to sit next to the net and score easy goals all season.

I used to be in the opposite direction, but hitch needs to go. He can't motivate his team and it's the basic things this team is doing wrong that needs correction. The team doesn't gel whatsoever, and no one seems to know what each other are doing out on the ice (another contributing factor is line combinations)
