I rarely post game predictions...but I don't have a good feeling about the Habs tonight...
Coming off a tiring effort against the Flames, the boys exhausted themselves last night, i'm hoping they have enough gas but i'm not betting on it.
It would be nice to see Perezhogin rewarded tonight for his effort since game 1 of this year, he's been somewhat of an unsung hero thus far, not racking up the points but enabling Johnson/Bonk to create more because of his speed.

Its allways fun to play back to back nights when you win the first game. I hope last night strong effort in the 3rd period will carry over to tonight game. Are first line did not score last night . I say we win 4-2. koivu (2), samsonov, perezhogin
I think it's a crime that we only play in Chicago, Detroit and Western Canada once every 3 years. A crime. I love watching us play in those places. Chicago and Detroit for the Original 6 feel and Western Canada for the Hab fans out west. 1 game every 3 years, garbage.
Oh but we get to go into Tampa Bay twice a year! Awesome!
As for tonight. I can't wait to see what the BPJ line does against Havalt.
I'm not as worried about back-to-backs as in year's past - Carbo and co. have this team prepared game in-game out. The only way I see fatigue getting to us is if we spend have the game killing penalties. We have to minimize our trips to the penalty box. That will be key in tonight's game.
I feel pretty good about our chances. Here's hoping we play a smart and simple road game. I could see a 4-1 Habs victory.
Kovalev(2), Higgins, Ryder with the goals.
Third line is going to be a key component to our success this year. They have been fantastic to this point. Their job tonight will be to eliminate the Havlat line.

Perhaps try the PBJ line? Not only is it in the right order (LW-C-RW), but it also means Peanut Butter and Jelly!

I vote we change the thread title to GDT 18/10/2006 Habs vs Havlat
i concur!
Havlat has been incredible in this early season. that being said, we need to try to contain him and his line in order to prevent them from generating any offence. the way we have been playing defence and killing penalties, the habs should be up for this task
beyond that, the hawks defense and goaltending has been very weak, and with the pressure of our top line follwed by our well balanced 2nd and 3rd lines, i think we should be able to generate a number of scoring oportunities.
Should be an easy game. I never predict those kind of stats habitually, but after looking at their 2nd line and bottom 2, and their D...
Habs 6
Hawks 2
(Kovalev twice, Plekanec 1, Koivu 1, Latendresse 1 and Markov 1. 3 assists for Samsonov)
(Handzus one, Cullimore 1)
Easy game? There are no more easy games in the NHL.The Hawks are 3-2 so they are doing something right by beating the Preds twice and won also in Colorado. They have some no namers but let me tell you watching a few of their games, those guys freakin skate.
I say the Habs are gonna win tonight but are gonna have to swet for it.
wow what a game this will be. if i wasnt working id definitly be watching. hoping ofr an exciting game 4-2 habs, but the 4th being EN
higgins
souray
kovelev
bonk
My prediction: Ryder checks Havlat lightly, Havlat slides into the boards, dislocates both his shoulders, and is out for the rest of the season.
Then the Habs go on to win 6-0. Maybe 6-1, Havlat might pot a goal before he goes down. Can I place this bet on vBookie? What would the odds be?

Who was it last year that injured havlat in a Habs-vs-Sens game?
Anyway, I think Aebi pulls another win (4-2).
It was Ryder. Havlat is a great player but sometimes you think he's made of jello or something...The check ryder laid out on him didn't look that bad and he didn't seem to slide into the boards all too roughly...

And Latendresse will get his first NHL goal. (first goal I predict to him, and really feel he will get it. If we win by 2-3 goals, I think Carbonneau will use him a bit more and might get more confident.)
