Hitch probably wont even play the rookies. I wouldn't put it past him.

Even if we lose, I just want to see some effort.

Not to ruin the mood or anything, but am I the only one who wouldn't mind seeing them lose a few more in a row and then shake things up big time (fire Hitchcock, etc...)? Its quite obvious that this team doesn't have what they need to win the cup. It's better to start over sooner rather than later.

Kane has no place on this team, strictly an ahl player. He must have purchased Dan Kordic's pictures of Clarke in a vicarious position.

Hoew many people think the bolts will score at least 4 goals? I do and just bet 500 on it.

Jones and Meyer also need to go-they are not everyday nhl players. Trade knuble while he has a pretty high value. what are the chances avery ends up on this team?

I called it in the other thread, Kapanen will be missing the broad side of a barn all night on the third line.

I agree that's his job, but who's he gonna start **** with? The Lightning are as devoid of tough guys as we are.

I wouldn't mind seeing Avery on this team. You need to give the fans something to get excited about if you can't do it based on skill and play.

Great, one of the only guys on the team that has been generating any offense and he's stuck playing between these guys. Well at least he won't get run at.

Poor Sanderson for all his hard work gets demoted and moved to a position he never plays on the 4th line. Excellent!

Avery and Gauthier love each other. We would have fights at least.

Even Forsberg has fought Avery - the only guy he has probably ever fought with (yes it was preseason - but it counts)

LOL. I dont know. They didn't televise it so I didn't see it. But I remember Forsbergs teammates were razzing him about it in the paper the next day. I don't think he exactly put a beat down on the guy.

I predict a 2-0 win for the Flyers. Goals by Carter and Knuble.

You guys always have a competitive, strong team, but eventually everyone runs out of chances. How close do you think Clarke is to running out of his? And what is his major downfall as GM of the Flyers. What would you have liked to see him do over his time that would have brought the team more success. Again, not attempted as a slam to the team, just an observation.
My opinion on Clarke is that he's a fantastic GM. He's got the balls to make risky moves that he feels will put the team over the top, and he always responds with something big when he feels the team is struggling. The only problem I see is that he was given a full piggy bank to work with by Ed Snider, and an empty cupboard, because of Jay Snider.

There's a lot of quality veteran players that would now be carrying the majority of the responsibilities with this team, had Snider not traded away the picks- Elias, Pandolfo, Moreau, Warrener, Deadmarsh. They'd all make this rebuild process a whole lot less rocky. But instead, our veteran presence is coming from players like Simon Gagne (26), Mike Richards (21), and Peter Forsberg (33). That is a pretty young veteran group if you ask me.

And like I said earlier, the problem isn't Bobby Clarke, it's Jay Snider's idiot trade with Quebec. We got a damn fine player who would have carried this team, but we were also set back ten years in the process (that really hurts when your team isn't all that good in the first place). And now that the cap is in place, and now that Snider prohibited the trading of youth, we are seeing a very painful rebuilding process in Philadelphia that should have happened fifteen years ago.

The Lindros trade was a band-aid, the Brind'amour trade a band-aid, every other move used by Clarke to keep this team from doing the most vulgar thing possible have all come and gone. We're going down baby!! HOLD TIGHT!!!!
