I feel yours. Gaborik, Havlat, Sundin & Ruutu for me.
(we did the draft the day before Ruutu got sawed by Klesla)

And now you can add Forsberg to the list. ***!

update from Yahoo,

Update: Gaborik is unlikely to return before Nov. 16, the end of Minnesota's current road trip, as he continues to rehab his groin injury, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. He is still is not close to practicing.

Recommendation: It looks like his return has been pushed back to late November or early December as he'll need a week or two on the ice before he's ready to play.

Gabby, Havlat and Afinogenov for me. I guess you can throw Demitra in as well since he hasn't done anything since Gabby went down.

Update: As of yesterday, he's still not skating. They're working hard on conditioning the muscles and teaching him how to avoid repeating the same injury. They aren't making any definite predictions, but it sounds like he's at least a week away from skating, and maybe another week or two after that before he plays. My guess right now is sometime in early to mid-December.

from yahoo again

Update: Gaborik (groin) hopes to resume skating by next weekend, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. He'll travel to Vancouver this week to begin a strengthening program with a specialist.

Recommendation: Gaborik's estimated return date keeps getting pushed back. He'll need a week or two of practice after he returns to the ice, so the best-case scenario for his return is now early to mid-December.

Finally! I was hoping they'd try to address the problem rather than just letting him heal up and do it again.

You mentioned that a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't have time to respond then. What I was going to say was that I thought they'd already done that the last couple of times, but evidently that wasn't the case. It seems they're taking it a lot more seriously this time, and the only question I have is, what the hell took them so long? You don't need to be a rocket surgeon to have seen that there was something about either his skating style or his physiology that was making this a chronic problem. I'm glad they're doing it now, but you'd think it might have occurred to them sometime before they signed that $19 million contract.

Well.. I knew very well that when drafting guys like Nagy and Gaborik that'd I'd be running into trouble somewhere down the line.
But the thing is, in a pool of 8 teams chances are I can make a decent pickup while my stars rest up on the IR.

According to TSN's Ice Chips, he's been officially placed on IR. I've got Demitra and Gaborik...killing my pool.

doesn't look good at all...

from Yahoo:

Update: Gaborik (groin) was officially placed on injured reserve. The Wild say his injury isn't any worse and this is a procedural move to free up another roster spot, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Gaborik hasn't started practicing yet, so the best-case scenario for his return is now early to mid-December.

Perhaps to teach a little bit of humility and a sense of perspective to "fans" whose only interest in an injured player is the effect his injury has on their silly-assed fantasy hockey leagues. If this thread is any indication, it didn't work.

What is taking him soooo long to get back! I am absoutley shocked he isin't even skating yet.....he should defenitly start skating and then practicing. If he waits too long and keeps on doing al lt his special off ice treatment how is he ever gonna make any damn progress and come back. His return won't be set in motion until he starts freaking skating/pracitcing! IT'S BEEN A MONTH!!

Marian Gaborik seriously has the groin of 75 year old man. So frail and brittle!
Maybe I should get rid of him while I got the chance since he'll prob come back and get re- injured withhin 5 games. It's a damn *****ing shame cause he's awesome when he plays!!

Man am I ever frustrated with him!!

Team gutted

I'm a Wild fan and that's the main reason I want Gabby back, but having him back for the later part of the season and playoffs is what is most important.

Man, my whole fantasy team is practically out....Gaborik, Afinogenov, Higgins, Berard, Doan, Handzus, Jackman (maybe he is back by now).

Well I finally got some great news to share with you all. I just got home from a night of drinking and was reading some hockey stuff , this is from hockeybuzz.con. Now I realize Eklund may not be the most realible source and is not always very accurate but whenever he gives an update on an injury it's right on cause he very rarley does (it's always trades not injuries)

Source confirmed to me that the Wild are "Being extra cautious. He was in vancouver recently seing some specialist for the second time"

But the source went on to say they expect he may be on the ice today or tomorrow for the first time with the team, and will probably play next friday night at home.

THAT IS AWESOME NEWS! I AM SO HAPPY! ILL DRINK TO THAT!

Look forward to hearing more updates as to how the practices go!

I would be absolutely amazed if he's back in the lineup only a week after he laces up the skates for the first time in a month. That would be insanity - just begging for him to reinjure it.

Well I have been very patient with Gabby and I can't wait to see him come back healthy and tear it up with Demitra again. It has just been more frustrating for me cause I also got Sundin , Gomez and Havlat injured but just traded Havlat.

I fully understand why it is taking Gaborik so long to come back and Minny wants to be extra careful with him I just wish he was back faster that's all.

I really don't see what is so shocking about this ....it has been a month and he has done all the important off ice treatment that he has needed. Seeing the specialists a few teams and getting special treatment and doing various off ice exerices is the more important thing he must be doing ....honestly the skating is secondary.

Think about it , once he's feeling good and can do basic movements and exercies off ice he willl feel comfortable on the ice within a few days. Once he's on the ice he will know if he is ready to come back or not. Also that's alot of skating , if he's practices this weekend that's a full week of practice and also skating on his own. Gabby as well as the traininf stuff know full well what they are doing.

I just hope Eklund's injury updates are a little more accurate than his trade rumors. Fortunatley I heard this on another message board too so...
