Philladelphia...

Philedelphia needs some help, so i was just thinking...

To Phillidelphia:
D. Aebischer (or C. Huet)
A. Perezhogin
2nd Round Pick

To Montreal:
S. Gange

now i like to specify time or dates at which i think a trade could happen but wen facing a trade like this, i just don't know, even tho philly needs some serious help, i don't think montreal may be willing to give up Aebischer or Huet rite now. but i think that if montreal waits untill later on in the season it'll be to late, and philly will have already rebuilt.

tell me wut u think.

That makes us considerably worse, not better. We could get more for Gagne at the trade deadline if we want to look to the future.

Well, at least you're not offering Ribeiro and Zednick anymore, But Gagne is still worth more than that, despite his poor start.

Actually Gagne has had a perfectly fine start. 5 goals in 8 games. One of the only productive players, and it hasnt been all Forsberg either. Hasnt been doing much else but pounce on loose pucks and score goals, like playing defense or setting up his team mates, but neither has anyone else on this team.

How does that help the Flyers? At all? It makes them worse.

like wut?? Sundin?? lol yeah rite. not worth it for philly.

i'm just saying that i'm going by philly's needs at the moment...

esche and nittimaki have done horrible and both huet and abei have been great. perezhogin and a second round pick could replace ur needs for the future, and we could throw in one of our d-man (souray, markov, rivet, ect.)

I think that the Canadians are better off trading with Phoenix, than with Philadelphia. BTW Gagne can easily net the best Habs players. This proposal will significantly weaken the Flyers.

i didnt mention sundin, i just ment that i think if philly was to trade gagne (which i dont think they would) for prospects, agood defenceman and picks not for a unproven goalie a second rounder that might not make it to the NHL and perezhogin whos good upside and a huge downside. it just dosent make sense for the flyers really.

I'm sorry, I dont see how this addresses Philly's needs AT ALL.

Esche and Nittymakki have not been the problem. Aebischer's numbers would look the same behind this team's D. He isnt really an upgrade, or at best a small upgrade to Esche, our backup. Perezhogin? What need does he fill? Our forward lines are stacked with talent. Trading Gagne would creat a need. Can Perezhogin step up onto the top line to replace Gagne? Gagne- Forsberg is one of the best duo's in the NHL, and a barely perceptable upgrade to our backup + third liner + 2nd round pick is enough to break that up?

FORSBERG STINKS. wut r u talking about, and i wasn't expectin for u to throw perezhogin on the top line, mab the 2nd. and esche stinks with smaller pads, and nittimaky can't carry the load.

Threw a lot of crap at the wall and you were still unable to spell Philadelphia. Impressive.

Basically I think Philly needs short term 2-3 mobile defencemen and put Hatcher in as no 6 or 7. Pitkanen is awesome as no 1 ... no issues there... (where is Marcus Rangarsson?? bring him outta retirement)

gauthier would look ok as a no 5, Baumgartner is fine as no 4,5 he'll make mistakes but his reaonably good all around....

Why on earth would philly trade Gagne?

Simply put what would help?-- offer up one of Philly's young forwards, and my choice would be Umberger and pick up a decent #2 or 3. You want to trade with Philly? How about RJ Umberger and Freddy Meyer to Montreal for Andrei Markov

Otherwise around the league other targets that are within Philly's grasp:

- Thomas Pock, NYR
- Derek Morris, Phoe
- Mark Giordano, Calgary
- Anton Volchenkov or Andrei Meszaroes, Ottawa
- Milan Jurcina, Boston
- David Hale, NJD

candidates to go:

- Umberger (not that I would want to if I were Philly -- but theyre deep enough to deal with his loss ie Carter, Richards)

-Sanderson - playing well right now but I'm not a fan- can you say goal scorers required in Calgary, Ottawa? Phoenix knows the guy

- Nedved - not sure if this is possible given he cleared waivers- I'd rather jsut take a crack at giving him top 9 ice time (see:3rd line) and he'll score again

- Esche- someone like FLorida could use him or maybe Boston, Nittymaki is excellent, and you could swing a no 2 from somewhere like Boston, Toronto, San Jose

Equally bad the other way. Markov is going to cost a lot more: ie Carter, not Umberger.

Actually that loks good like that, although i'me sure you'll overrate your prospects again when you see this one.

I was thinking thats a horrible proposal but that 2nd rounder evens everything up and makes all the difference.

Take out Perezhogin and Giroux and its not terrible as a trade deadline dump.
