Handzus could be out for season

Sources tell TSN that Chicago Blackhawks forward Michal Handzus' knee injury suffered in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the St Louis Blues may keep him out of the lineup the remainder of the regular season.

Sucks to hear! Especially after I just bragged about Chicago getting the better of that deal Well, before he got hurt they did.

I am a big fan of Handzus. Here hoping for a good recovery, no matter how long it takes.

Not to poke fun at an injury, but maybe his knee will heal and he can come back a little faster??

Hawk fans are trying to figure out what hit them in the last two games

Handzus out for the year
Havlet out for atleast 3 weeks
The Wall has a broken finger
and about 4 other players are walking wounded as well

That sucks for Handzus. He's such a warrior, and to have to sit out for most or all of the season must hurt a lot.

It really sucks for Hawks fans, but after the run we had last season and LA had the season before that, I guess it's their turn.

Handzus brought the injury bug to Chicago via the trade

Not this Flyers fan, and I doubt any of the rest of us would wish an ill will on any other team at any time, but most especially after what we went through last season.

Here's wishing a speedy recovery for Zeus. He is a definite warrior and I'm sure he'll be back as soon as possible.

Hardly. I enjoy watching the Blackhawks have success, and I am ecstatic, because Handzus was the one leading them. All those years, he was leading teams from the third line, putting up very respectable numbers for a guy who minds his own zone first. And now that he finally proves that he isn't too slow, too offensively inhibited, he has his best season ended, because of something very unexpected- an injury. He's a workhorse who deserved every bit of success he was having.

Not at all. Most of us like Handzus and I personally feel something is missing in the NHL without a strong team in Chicago. Most hockey fans, and certainly Flyers' fans included, will appreciate this video of JR -- one of his finest moments:

I freakin' love JR. That was when the Blackhawks were my favorite team that wasn't wearing orange and black.

Great clip. I love the commentator's excitement as Roenick scores. JR's my hero.

I feel sad for Zeus. It seems the Flyer's bad luck this year is spilling over to ex-Flyers now

Yeah, Roenick is the reason I have always followed the Hawks. They are the only team I love besides the Flyers.

Pat Foley, one of the all-time greats. He joined the Avs this past summer.

Handzus will be an UFA next year, I wonder if he'd be interested in coming back here. I for one, could always find a spot for a player like Handzus in my lineup.
