Ahhh, I love all those capitals in the thread subject.

Anyway, are there anhy other NHL:EHM players here?

The reason I am asking is because while the game rocks, it has one major problem: quebec names.

10 years in, and there are barely any more french canadians any more. So no0 more Canadiens homer picks, etc.

I thought they would fix this in EHM 05 or EHM 07, but it doesn't appear to be on their agenda.

So I wrote in on fhockey boards, but keep getting vague answers.

Am I the only one bothered by this?

If not, then let's start writing in on the boards, sending email,. etc. to get this fixed!

I don't think that qualifies as a "major problem" but it would be really easy to fix; they just need to add some french names into the name pool.

Yeah, I play and enjoy it a lot.

They're supposed to be tweaking the French Canadians in the next patch, I think. Head to the SIForums to talk to the developers directly... fhockey won't get you as far (I think).

I'm a EHM 2005 player and I checked my last drafts.

2025
First French Name
#53 Dave Derosiers ( from Ontario )
#57 Michael Dubuc ( From Alberta )
#71 Jean-Francois Young ( Young isn't really a Franch but JF is )
#82 Vincent Baker ( Baker is still not a real French name )
#156 Kevin Blais ( From Ontario )

No real french name coming from quebec in this draft

I Have a few quebecers on my team/prospects but look at their names
G Daniel Thornton from Lachine
D Francois Carlson from Montreal
D David Henderson from Greenfield Park
D Daniel Brooks from Hull
F Patrick Watson from Greenfield Park
F Sebastien Dreger from Terrebonne
F Jean-Francois Freeman from Chicoutimi
F Patrick Kisio from Thurso
F Francois McDonald from St-Eustache
F Simon Purves from Quebec City
F Pierre Murray from Sorel

See ? no real Franch Canadian Names

Yeah, same here, though I'm excited about Guy Paquet from Laval, a very hot prospect going into this draft (2016) and the first pure quebecker since 7th rounder michel tremblay (who sucked).

The reason for the thread is because I want this problem fixed (and it hasnt been fixed since the original EHM), and I want to DEFINTELY know if its being fixed. So lets post on their boards that we want names done properly!!!

I think the problem right now is that too many non-quebecers get half french names like Louis-Philippe Smyth or Andrew Thibodeau. Otherwise, looking at the some QMJHL drafts:

2008 Draft:
1. Moncton Wildcats - Len Porter - C - Halifax, Nova Scotia
2. Victoriaville Tigres - Étienne Gélinas - D - Chicoutimi, Quebec
3. Gatineau Olympiques - Pierre-Antoine Biron - RW - Magog, Quebec
4. Drummondville Voltigeurs - Eddie Rajotte - C - Charlottetown, PEI
5. PEI Rocket - Nigel McCabe - C - Fredericton, NB

2009 Draft:

1. PEI Rocket - Gaby Simard - G - Magog, Quebec
2. Chicoutimi Saguenéens - Sebastien Allard - RW - Hull, Quebec
3. Moncton Wildcats - Eddie Adair - G - Wolfville, Nova Scotia
4. Gatineau Olympiques - Zak Laforge - C - St. John's, NL
5. Acadie-Bathurst Titan - Fabien Lebey - C - Verdun, Quebec

2010 Draft:
1. Saint John Sea Dogs - Patrice Lemay - RW - Chomedey, Quebec
2. Victoriaville Tigres - Marc-André Bessette - C - Montreal, Quebec
3. PEI Rocket - Darren Moir - C - Corner Brook, NL
4. Lewiston Maineiacs - Roger Bilodeau - RW - Gatineau, Quebec
5. Rimouski Oceanics - Pierre-Edouard Labrecque - C - Thetford Mines, Quebec

It has taken a huge step forward; the only problem I see now, as I mentionned, is that too many non-Quebecers have half-french names.

To do another test, I'm going to look at the first three round picks from the 2013 NHL Draft and note down guys who have full or half-french names or any guys who come from Quebec.

1. Dallas Stars - Hugo Chicoine - C - Acadie-Bathurst Titan - Chicoutimi, Quebec
7. Toronto Maple Leafs - Jassen Potvin - LW - Belleville Bulls - Guelph, Ontario
11. Chicago Blackhawks - Yan Landry - D - Saginaw Spirit - Toronto, Ontario
12. Phoenix Coyotes - Patrice Lemay - RW - Rouyn-Noranda Huskies - Chomedey, Quebec
19. Los Angeles Kings - Yanick Charron - C - Victoriaville Tigres - Bridgewater, Nova Scotia
34. Buffalo Sabres - Pat Lalonde - LW - Lewiston Maineiacs - Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia
35. Dallas Stars - Pierre-Edouard Labrecque - C - Lewiston Maineiacs - Thetford Mines, Quebec
42. Phoenix Coyotes - Frederick Gagné - LW - Shawinigan Cataractes - Saint-Jérome, Quebec
45. Colorado Avalanche - Daryl Bégon - LW - Kitchener Rangers - Niagara Falls, Ontario
48. Nashville Predators - Gord Dionne - C - Plymouth Whalers - Lakefield, Ontario
51. Calgary Flames - Pascal Corbet - D - Quebec Remparts - Sherbrooke, Quebec
55. Minnesota Wild - Marc-Olivier St Marc - D - Victoriavilles Tigres - Montreal, Quebec
59. Philadelphia Flyers - Nicola Talbot - LW - Regina Pats - Calgary, Alberta
67. Detroit Red Wings - Yan Sylvestre - D - PEI Rocket - Verdun, Quebec
72. Chicago Blackhawks - Cyril Bounoure - RW - PEI Rocket - Verdun, Quebec
76. Pittsburgh Penguins - Jean-Simon Maloney - G - Prince-George Cougars - Courtenay, BC
85. Detroit Red Wings - Jordan Fleury - RW - Victoriaville Tigres - Gatineau, Quebec
90. Boston Bruins - Georges-Étienne Demers - LW - Seattle Thunderbirds - Rocky Mountain House, Alberta

Confirms my theory, Quebec names are now fixed but works could be done on Canadian names. It's probably a lot more work than we think to fix something like that.
