His leg is swollen and he's walking with crutches, nice try.

I've called in sick with a minor head cold but I know I would be missing a leg I'd still play and for free- I'd play for free, and without limbs. Sturm is a wuss if he has two legs he should be playing.

embarrass himself, he didn't standout.

I see him as a minor upgrade over York/Dempsey.
Why should he be seen as anything better ?
You're right on the mark with that one. Not a big fan of the p-bruins, but when they played in my town last year, he didn;t stand out in the AHL let alone against NHL competition. Hopefully he will be solid and unspectacular when he does return.

couldn't agree more, dan. i mean, even the guy from european vacation who got mangled by the grizwold car would play, "flesh wounds" and all.

there are not many jobs I would do for free and hockey isn't one them....the only one I can think of is not a team sport and involves Christy Canyon circa 1980's

I do not, for even a moment, believe that Sturm is "milking his 'injury''.

I hope he heals well and comes back soon. This just really stinks, Marco getting an injury during practice.

Maybe the fact it took him 2 minutes to get down a flight of stairs after thursday's game.

I dont think a quality nhl team would miss the likes of alberts and mark stuart. lets not get carried away with self pity. sturm is a 2nd line winger, and brad a #2-3 defenseman. I dont think the bruins have been held to 5 pts in 7 games due to the loss of these two sure HOFers

the point is we want to see what stuart has to offer. we've seen what york and dempsey have--not much. they're journeyman roster fillers.

this is not a stanley cup contender this year, i hope people realize that. they should be improved from last year by the end of this year, but they'll be fighting for the last playoff spot in my opinion.

mark stuart is part of the future and that's why people want to see him over york/dempsey.

when I first read that I thought you meant meant chris kanyon. christy canyon is much hotter. she is no teri weigel circa 1980's, but hot nonetheless.

This is Sturm's contract year, he's not going to milk an injury now, it would only cost him money next year.

I'm not the one saying that he's "being a baby". I was only pointing out that it's possible.

Anyone can pretend to be limping and take three hours to go down stairs so that actually proves.............nothing.

And why, oh great one, would Sturm milk an injury for?

Isn't it a little weird that with Stuart and Alberts hurt, they have not made a move yet?

I mean, they aren't going to ask Brookbank to chase around those little Montreal forwards, are they?

That's what makes me wonder if they are trying to trade someone or sign a UFA. I would think if they were going to call up a guy or two from Providence they would do that now so that they can practice with the team before Thursday's game.

Yeah, a little. With both of them being out a couple weeks (knock on wood), they can't really "rent a defenseman" so they're probably waiting for Stuart's medical report from the hand specialist and then they'll decide. They could call an extra defenseman up from Providence too, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Depending if Lewis likes Jurcina this week or not.

I find it weird Thompson didn't skate today. But Mowers should be practicing tomorrow.

Well, it would be funny to see Brookbank chase around Sammy and Kovalev.

Admit it, it would be hilarious.

On a serious note- it's still Monday. As Jaci said, they may be waiting to see what's up with B. Stuart before making any call ups or signings.

I'm wondering if Sturm is more hurt than what they are letting on. If so, we need to get someone in his place and pronto.

Hypothetically, wouldn't you agree that if you had a rookie D-man playing in his first 15 games, and you DIDN'T NOTICE HIM, that's a GOOD thing?

I don't think that M-Stu is preparing his HOF speech (not yet DC, give him a few years), but I believe he will be an upgade over York and Dempsey for sure. And given his solid, yet unspectacular play last year in his NHL cameo, I am hoping he turns out to be better than either Alberts or Jurcina as well.

Don't pin it on me. Nancy M-B said it first.

Wouldn't it be our luck if he needs surgery and this turns into Pat Leahy's broken finger of last season? I don't want it to be our luck, but at the rate this season is already going....

Did anybody read that Thomas got ice in the EYE today?

Seriously.

Don't tell DC...he'll think Thomas is faking, so he can get shipped back to Providence.
