Why was Havlat a healthy scratch last night?

Is he injured, playing like garbage, or in Martin's doghouse?

TSN said he was injured.

Apparently all of the above to one extent or another.

Marting hasn't been playing to expectations as with quite a number of his team mates. Don't be surprised to see more of the "regulars" being healthy scratches if the Sens don't get out of their funk.

I don't think he was a healthy scratch, as he had been one of the few guys Matin had been praising recently, and with Alfie injured, scratching Havlat would make no sense. I do believe he had a little tweak, and they decided to not have him play....

WHat do you guys think is the Sens problem this year? I think they will turn it wround, but is it injuries, goaltending, defense... I mean we know why the caps suck, why Detroit struggles time to time, but the Sens look so fearsome on and on the ice it seems like they should be kicking ass.

On the pens broadcast it said he aggrevated his groin, sounds reasonable because we all know the state of his groin. He usually injures it 7 1/2 million times per year. I doubt that JM would bench someone after the big 6-1 win over the canes, especially after saying in the previous game that the white/havlat/vermette line was the only one working.

Pens fan here, I read in the Post-Gazette that he was sidelined with a groin injury, it was a gametime decision.

Havlat has a right hamstring injury and is out indefinitely.
Smolinski has a seperated right shoulder and is out indefinitely.
We all know about Mike Fisher.
Hopefully, Alfie will be back asap.

(Havlat had played very well since that last game against Atlanta. That's a string of about three strong games for him. He was promoted by Martin during the game against Carolina, so I doubt he's in the doghouse. Doghouse dweller? Schastlivy.)

Smolinski will only be gone about 7-10 days according to the Sens website, but I don't recall him even getting hurt. I saw him in OT.

Meanwhile, I hope Volchenkov is in the lineup tonight. Why he's sitting is beyond me.

It said on today's broadcast that he did not even realize it happened till after the game. That would explain why he was out in OT.
