Just saw the replay and I find it funny that noone complains about the first Coyote player who goes over the side of Sopel, who does his best Ulfie impersonation.
Saw the thread and thought he was complaining about diving again
I thought something smelled in this thread. Seriously, why do you bother posting? It only makes you and Sabres fans look like a bunch of **** munching ****** monkeys.
I wish we had 18 Nick Boyntons. The guy stands up for his teammates and gets crucified for it. Whats with you guys? He was one of the few players last year that actually cared.

I thought both ( hmmm, much smaller men) handled Boynton pretty well.

Did you watch Barnaby hold on to Nick's right for dear life?? He wasn't giving him that hand at all.

You have no idea what you want do you? You want a player that will stand up for his teammates who plays with an edge. No *snicker* ladies that waltz around. So then there is Boynton, who definitely has an edge.....will stand up for his teammates.....and fights (btw Barnaby is 6'1 191...Boynton 6'2 212 oh yeah, big difference there)....yet you still ridicule. I just don't know what you want in a player. I'm not even sure you know. Bet the REAL Don Cherry loves a guy like Boynton.

If Barnaby *is* that size he sure doesn't look it.
I like guys who play with an edge. I just happen to like them when the play just as "edgy" no matter who comes calling whether it be Ribiero or Boulton. (snicker)
I truly hope in real life, DC, that you are easier to please. You complain when a player is "soft" and doesn't stand up for teammates. If he does stand up for teammates, doing so makes him a coward because the way he does it doesn't fit your stringent guidelines. It's pathetic, really, and I'm an idiot for continuing to read your posts.
I soured on Boynton last year and felt he wanted a change in scenery. You can question his decision making or not appreciate parts of his game, but he was a good Bruin for years. He truly cared about winning (which is pretty refreshing in this day and age of overpaid, self-absorbed, obnoxious pro athletes). He's managed his diabetes to continue to play and he did a lot of kids with diabetes in his charity work.
I respect the guy. And whoever the poster was that called people here "Boynton groupies": what a condenscending thing to say.

Yeah, you could tell how much he loved being a Bruin by his yearly holdouts. Was that also refreshing?

His holdouts actually have nothing to do with him as a player, which is what you were criticizing wasn't it? I'm not a fan of players holding out but it happens and his last one was one reason I started souring on him as a Bruin, although MOC must share some blame for that as well.

....agreed.......Nick dosen't always 'do the right thing'but he will react and act when it's needed to help his team when it's getting pushed around or to try to ignite a listless team.
Call it emotion, passion, heart, stupidity......whatever.......he brings it and bleeds for his team, leaving it all on the ice.
My only problem with Nick was his holdouts. He's up and down in most areas, but he plays through injuries, and most importantly, he'll stick up for a teammate. Like they used to do in hockey.
I love that Boynts pounded on Sopel. If someone did that to a Buin I'd want the same result.

I was always a Boynton fan, but I soured on the constant contract problems. The straw that broke the camels back, for me anyways, was the cowering away from Boulton on the heels of the cheapshot on Ribiero.
I like a guy who plays tough as much (probably more) than anyone, but if a player has to look to see who the other guy is before reacting.... 'nuff said.

Ever think he didn't fight last season because of his torn labrum?
I wouldn't want to be trying to punch people if my shoulder had even an ounce the amount of pain Boynton had.
And yet it didn't bother him when he threw the cheapshot at Ribiero. Imagine that.
DC, come on- that "spear to Ribbies stomach" was a tap to the abdomen, and we ALL know it. Ribbies of course feigned pain like the actress that he is, hence why a lot of Canadian fans are happy he is gone. Might have been a stupid thing to do, but he certainly didn't maim the guy by any means.
