San Jose gets a younger version with more upside than Harvey I'd say. The cash is for Lombardi's oops Harv's contract.

And Sutter needs a viable scorer, not Todd Harvey. Replace Harvey with Sturm and you got a deal.

Actually, we need some depth folks due to injuries from various thuggeries the last couple weeks. Betts has got some size, he needs to skate faster. A little time with the SJ training staff and some offensive freedom could go a long way...

Sure, maybe he'd be hungry enough for a shot under someone other than Sutter that he'd thrive here. Harvey's had more than his share of chances, let him go play a system he knows...

No thanks. Betts has become a favorite of Sutter's and Harvey has a big contract.

This is exactly the reason why Calgary keeps Betts over an aged Todd Harvey. What exactly is Calgary's incentive for making this deal if the get the older, more expensive, and weaker of the two players? Is the cash supposed to entice them to make this deal? Brutal for the Flames.

Not worth the money, Harvey was supposed to be in that Nieuwendyk deal wasn't he? But didn't Dallas give up Iginla instead?

I think that was just a rumor spread around these boards. Never have I seen a actual source mentioned.
